I don't normally do reviews unless something is exceptionally good, truly awful or very useful
The tiny Kardia mobile ECG machine, which this app works with is absolutely amazing.
Between use of a smart watch which has alerted me to an abnormally high heart rate leading to use of the Kardia I have been able to document repeat episodes of atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation despite heavy duty heart medication and the electriphysiologist/heart surgeons have evidence that surgery is warranted.
In addition I was admitted to hospital as an emergency 3 times, and each time the ambulance ecg and the Kardia were a close match
Tips:
1. Don't press too hard in order to avoid motion artifact
2. Dampen the skin with a damp cloth that the Kardia device will come into contact with. It won't work on dry skin
3. It doesn't work if you have an essential tremor - as you have to be still when you hold it
4. It does not work with all mobile devices - so you should check first
5. It requires bluetooth to be on
6. The app requires the Kardia machine (which is not much bigger than a credit card)
7. You can email the report to yourself etc
I have no financial interest in this company. I just bought the machine and in my experience the device and app (which works great on an iphone and ipad though you can only pair with one device at a time) are amazing examples of beneficial application of artificial intelligence
A great support for those with AF
Very happy with the reassurance given by this app.
Doesn’t work very well
Since I’ve had it, it’s really hard to get the readings.
