Absurdly Expensive, weird social features

This app is the shiny new thing for internet nerds, but I can’t see a good reason to pay the absurdly large subscription fee. Moreover, why does this app need to collect your contacts?

Developer Response ,

the only read it later app where I actually read all the stuff I saved

Matter isn't just a convenient way to save articles and podcasts, but it's a really effective research tool. It transcribes everything you add to your queue, podcasts and youtube videos as well. And for articles it will read them too.

I use Matter as a replacement to a podcast app, I put things in my queue, put my airpods in and go for a walk and it read my queue of content to me. If I hear something I want to save I can save the text to Readwise from the transcript.

It also has a Roam Research extension if you don't use Readwise.

Overall, a really polished product built by a team that's committed to continuous iteration and building quality opinionated software.
