Not compatible with older models
We brought a new vtech monitor as we had brought a previous model 12-months earlier from vtech, and we wanted to view both cameras on the one app.
The model we previously brought was the best model we could buy at the time, a RM901HD. We wanted to add a second camera and we were very happy that the vtech mobile app allowed you to add multiple cameras that you could view at the same time. Unfortunately, the RM901HD was no longer available, so we brought the best model now available to us (the RM5764HDv2). We are really disappointed in our purchase. The new camera is not compatible with the old vtech mobile app as they have developed a new app (which they have not made compatible with the old models). We now have the 2 most expensive models we could buy at the time (12-months apart), which we have to go to different apps to view.
There are also features in the new app that are worse than the old version. Previously you did not need to grant the app permission to your camera roll to enable you to save photos and videos, whereas now you do. You also cannot pin the menu open which can make it more difficult to open.
