ABILITY to read when the books out in person
I use daily unless I’m not allowed because it’s to early or something else like that such as too late but...
I love overdrive for the fact that if I want a book that is out in person I can just pop on my iPad and issue the book online,
Especially if I really want to read a book and come back to late and find someone else came before me and issued it, and again pop on my iPad and issue it.
I find it easy to use and to access the books, the only problem is if you want recommendations you have to be logged in and then you have to go your account and look for the recommendations icon on your screen which takes ages, apart from that it’s easy to use and fun to read the book that you want read
Still a better app than Libby!!! The audio book reader is great however...
The usability of searching for books is ok, but finding where they went once borrowed is confusing.
I eventually realised I had to click my 'Account' and then 'Loans' but that isn't set up in the main menu. It seems instead to be set up god knows where.
Then getting back to hear that download meant exiting out of my account, but to then having to reopen my bookshelf. It feels like two different interfaces or two apps in one app. I feel this would be too confusing for many people. It really needs overhauling. Like whay can't the loaned book go straight to my bookshelf instead of that other area?
Anyway the good news is once finally listening to the audio book in the player, it is an excellent easy to use audiobook player. Good bookmarking, good timer, good ability to go forward or back. I very much like the usability of this part of the app. So please don't change that part.
I love this app. I have read so many more books than I would otherwise have done and been able to sample many new authors. I really dislike paperbacks that have to be held open and the sometimes overwhelming experience that a visit to the library presents. This sure fixes those problems.
I just wish that I could still lock the screen from within the app but not for other apps. That option was available in an earlier version of this app and was really useful esp for reading in bed.
