Pixelmator Pro 3.5.8 brings improved support for vector PDFs — including those created using Apple apps like Safari, Keynote, or Pages — now letting you edit text elements as regular text layers. The update also adds the ability to create freely customizable strokes around text layers and introduces a new Bento Grid template collection.
Text Editing in PDFs
• You can now import and edit text elements in vector PDFs as regular text layers.
• Replace, format, and style the imported text using your favorite Pixelmator Pro tools.
• Thanks to the advanced recovery of embedded text data in PDFs, original text content, fonts, and text formatting are retained.
• Even if a document contains fonts that are not installed on your Mac, you can still import them as editable text layers and replace missing fonts with other available ones.
Extended Support for Apple PDFs

So clean. So concise. So clever.
I bought Pixelmator because I wanted to be rid of paying for photoshop and lightroom. Hundreds of dollars each year for the rest of my life? No thanks.
I couldn't figure out if I liked Affinity or Pixelmator more. So I got both. Affinity feels more like photoshop. Like a twin brother. Maybe less evil. Affinity "feels" more like a full on editing app to create super complex images and designs.
Pixelmator is more like a sassy sister. She looks sweet and innocnent. But she packs a wallop. Pixelmator's photo editor (exposure/colour) section is really cool. It acts like Lightroom.
However, I'm finding it to have just as many features as Affinity. But in a very streamlined way. I think if you are new to editing, you're not familiar with photoshop...I'd go with Pixelmator.
Or for about the price of Adobes yearly subscription pay for both...ONCE!
Excellent App
We are artists and help to operate an art gallery. I use Pixelmator Pro to create greeting cards and an annual calendar for the gallery (and a few other things). It is very good and ideal for our purposes. I don't have much of a background in using computers.... and I am probably unaware of some of the features of this app, but it hasn't been hard to learn how to use it to fulfil our needs. So helpful
I am a relative novice when it comes to graphics work. I have had the mixed fortune to use PhotoShop and while I am sure it is an amazing tool for the professional, it was way to complicated for me. PixelmatorPro to be a good middleground. I can do all the things I need and there is plenty of room to do a lot more sophisteicated stuff.
I particularly like the ML Super Resolution option when resizing images.
