Playdead's INSIDE 12+

Seriously, this is one of the most beautifully designed games in the App Store. Moreover, this is a ported game normally only available on Xbox One and PS4. So in terms of value for money- you won’t find a better game. It’s won more awards than probably any other game inStore.

But in the end, what really counts in my books is game play. And this is simply one stunning piece of design. Both in terms of look & feel, but more importantly, in terms of happiness. The designers have gone all out with story boarding this game. It’s a huge step up from their previous award winning title. I’ve never once been bored, it’s tantalising spooky, the puzzles progress perfectly in terms of complexity and never out pace your game experience.

To be honest, by stage 4/12 I did need to cheat a few times by looking at a walk thru. But honestly, as long as your willing to look around carefully at your surroundings and think thru the Ava choices, you should never need to do this. I guess it’ll ultimately come down to your own experience with this style of game.

As far as I’m concerned these guys deserve every single dollar of profit they make and more. So much love and concern has gone into this game it’s simply a real pleasure to play from start to finish. I cannot wait for their next game! 10+/10

A joy to play. If you have not played the developer’s previous game Limbo I suggest you start there. There are no real instructions as you have to move the character through the liner environment and solve puzzles and complete tasks to move through the game. Once you get the hang of things the game is really intuitive. The tasks flirt perfectly with the line of being difficult enough to make you think without being frustratingly impossible. You get a real sense of accomplishment when you move on. The physics are a joy to play and the whole game has this hypnotic charm. Bravo!

If Limbo is the first masterpiece by Playdead, Inside is yet another milestone. It involves substantial puzzle solving at different environmental setting which are genuinely creative. Even though there is no single dialogue, yet the plot is stunning and intriguing. The somber atmosphere perfectly portraits the post-apocalyptic world in which the game is based on. This is different to Limbo in which the entire background is filled with black and white. Last but not the least, the soundtrack is also a key feature of this game. Rather than being creepy and eerie, The music gives me a rather peaceful feeling, just like deep ocean.
