Best job searching app
Most jobs are relevant to me - it cuts down a lot of the faff that might show up on a different competitor, say LinkedIn, that wants you to get work so badly it doesn’t matter whether it’s scrubbing toilets or training pilots.
Great App, the “new” tab for saved searches is fantastic. If there’s no new jobs since I last looked, it’s blank, which is exactly what it should be. All recruiters and hirers seem to be on here, so you won’t miss anything.
TOP UP stopped working
TOP UP feature saids an error occurred pull to retry & at the top of the screen it saids sorry, we couldn’t get all your information. Please pull down to retry. I refresh the app again and again and have also deleted the app and re-downloading but still the TOP UP feature does not work. I would rather use my credit card please.
Has the jobs, no real incentive to improve
Best thing about SEEK is also the worst:
-dominance of the Australasian job search market is near total.
So while it’s still probably the best place to find a job online in this part of the world, they have no incentive to really improve.
You will find the response from SEEK is pretty different if you are an advertiser (a customer) or a person with a profile (a product).
Pay rate selection:
-Filters have rated that went out of date when Y2K was a thing
Profile creation:
-Doesn’t work well to create Word docs (what absolutely every recruiter still expects your resume to be written in)
Recommended jobs:
-Worse data matching in the market.
I get it. It’s not free. But is it as good as it could be? Or are they just shuffling thru their success.
