Scale grips now display through other geometry, so that you can always see and click them. Rotation grips no longer appear when you’ve locked a rotation plane. Hey SketchUp fans! This release is packed with an exciting update to SketchUp Diffusion. Check out the new full screen UI and new image editing features we've added. We can't wait to hear what you think! New UI • Full-screen mode: Tap the Diffusion button and watch it go full-screen. No more refreshing—what you see is what you use to generate. Diffusion results now also show up full-screen in your viewport automatically and can be selected or deselected in the new Gallery panel. • Navigation: Freely navigate your model and adjust styles while in diffusion mode.  Generated jobs now also remember where they were created, so rest assured that you can always return to a job’s camera location just by tapping it from the gallery.  • Bottom toolbar: Jump right into prompting and generating with the new bottom toolbar and a new Autoprompt preset that will generate a detailed prompt for you. 1-click generation has never been easier! Take your images further with our new set of paint, erase, and sketch tools. Prompt Tool The original prompt tool is still here, with advanced settings now found by tapping the settings button next to the prompt button and preset selection from the top of the settings window. You can find advanced settings under the dropdown, settings like Prompt Influence, Respect Model Geometry, and Negative Prompt. • Style Transfer: This exciting new setting can be found in the advanced settings of the “No Style” preset and lets you pick your own image as a style reference for the generated images. Want your Diffusion results  to look like your hand-drawn sketches? Load a scan of your sketches as a reference and see the magic happen! Image Tools New in this release are a set of image editing tools you can use to refine your diffusion results and achieve your creative vision. • Paint Tool: Paint to select an area, type a prompt describing what you want added to the selected area. Perfect for refining large spaces  and objects in your image. • Erase Tool: Use the brush or lasso selection mode to select objects that you want removed from your images. Diffusion will remove and blend the result with the background. • Sketch Tool: Use a sketch to define what you want added, combine it with a descriptive prompt and see your results added to the image.  Best for adding uniquely shaped objects that you want artistic control of. Other bottom bar tools • Image Opacity Control: Easily check your work or create interesting hybrid views with the new image opacity control. • Share and Save: Share or save your creations with just a tap using the scene creation or share button in the bottom toolbar. Gallery Panel • View and rate results: The new Gallery panel on the right side of your screen lets you view and load your Diffusion results from the past 30 days. Tap the 3 dot menu on an image to Like or Dislike. • Resizable Thumbnail Previews: Zoom in or out to see larger or smaller thumbnails of your results. • Select and load past jobs: Tap an image to load it full-screen (this also returns the camera to that job’s location), tap again to unload, double tap to see the job data. Tap an image’s 3 dot menu and select Restore Camera to navigate back to that image’s location without loading the image onscreen. Here's what's new in v6.5.7 (2144)! We've been hard at work squashing bugs to ensure a great app experience for you. With this update, the app should crash less, and files created by autosave and in Trimble Connect should be more reliable. Trimble Connect (TC) and autosave fixes • Fixed: Issue where canceling the upload process for a file on TC would cause the file to become local only, and opening that original file from the TC tab would result in opening an earlier file version. • Fixed: Bug where the thumbnails of files stored on Trimble Connect did not update in the recent files list • Fixed: Issue that caused an autosave file created from a file in TC to be saved as a local file. Now, autosave files created from TC files will upload the autosave version to TC after a user confirms that they want to proceed with using the autosave file. • Fixed: Bug that would allow a user to create an invalid file in TC by creating a new file from the TC tab, then immediately navigating away from and back to the tab. This invalid file would cause loading issues in the TC tab and recent files list. Other Bug fixes • Fixed: Layout bug on iPhone Viewer where some elements do not show up in Model Info panel when first expanded. • Fixed: Issue where the Styles panel would stop scrolling correctly with multiple subsections open. • Fixed: Bug that allowed a deleted tag to be applied to objects • Fixed: Issue where Apple Pencil settings did were not respected in Markup mode, forcing ‘draw with finger’ mode to always be active. Now, markups respect this setting both if set in the pencil settings while in a markup, and what is set from the iOS pencil settings. • Fixed: An issue where after creating a section plan, user keyboard shortcuts would stop working until the model was closed and reopened • Fixed: Bug where the app would crash when signing in or out. Minor Improvements • New: We’ve provided 'Section Cut' display as a shortcut button. This can be added to both the radial menu and shortcuts bar now. Type your terms into the new search bar in the Outliner, and see all matching results filtered right there. Parent objects are included, making it a snap to understand your model hierarchy. • Zoom Selected: Get to your objects quicker with the new zoom to selection button at the top of the Outliner panel. Select an object in your model, tap ‘Zoom selected,’ and instantly zoom to that object in both the model view and the Outliner. • Edit Group Instance Names: Easily rename group instances via the group’s overflow menu in Outliner. Material Editing Improvements • Real-time Material Editing: See your material edits instantly! Adjust opacity and add textures with immediate visual feedback. Undo any changes with the Undo command. • Enhanced UI: The “Edit Material Details” popup now lives in the Materials panel, letting you view and navigate your model while editing your materials. We're excited to bring you the latest update for SketchUp for iPad! This release focuses on improving existing features, and addressing key issues reported by our community to ensure a smoother and more efficient design experience. Read on to discover what's new and improved in version 6.5.2 (2077). IMPROVEMENTS Scan-to-Design • We’ve enhanced the alignment of Canvas and RoomPlan outputs, making them easier to work with. Omnibar • Compatibility: Omnibar is now available when using SketchUp with iOS versions prior to iOS 17. • Improved Search: Typing a search term now surfaces top results, with the top result highlighted for quick access. Use arrow keys to scroll through search results and just press enter to activate the highlighted result. Keyboard Shortcuts • Shortcut symbols now support localized languages, enhancing usability for non-English users. • Modifier key combinations are now also supported when setting shortcuts Accessibility • We’ve updated the application font to SF Pro to match the iOS system font, supporting font accessibility and a more cohesive visual experience. BUG FIXES • Edge Aliasing: Fixed a bug that was causing edges to appear aliased, ensuring crisp and clear visuals. • Graphics engine preference switch: Added a preference switch, allowing users to toggle between the classic and new graphics engines. This switch can be found in the 'This Device' section of the About tab. • Errors Generating Autoshapes: Resolved an issue where attempting to generate component-based autoshapes would fail, restoring the speedy generation of shapes and components. • Language Setting Crash: Fixed a bug where setting the app language to another language would cause a crash, improving stability for multilingual users. • AR Viewing Mode Freeze: Addressed an issue where enabling AR viewing mode without allowing camera access would freeze the app, ensuring smoother AR experiences. • File Opening Crash: Fixed a bug that caused the app to randomly crash when attempting to open files over 10MB, enhancing reliability for large projects. What's new in v6.5 – Generate 3D models of existing spaces and start designing immediately with Scan-to-Design. Create more realistic visuals in-app with Ambient Occlusion. Plus, customize keyboard shortcuts, share links for real-time viewing, and enjoy improvements to Diffusion! Scan-to-Design – Use LiDAR scanning in SketchUp to quickly generate 3D models of existing spaces, providing an excellent starting point for design and collaboration. Scan-to-Design harnesses technology from Canvas and Apple RoomPlan, offering the following 3D outputs: • Canvas scan output will generate a textured 3D model in which the ‘room surfaces’ (walls, ceiling, floor) are drawn as planes and/or triangulated meshes that can be easily edited using SketchUp's modeling tools. The rest of the space (furnishings, etc) will be drawn as a textured, triangulated mesh. • Apple's RoomPlan technology creates a simplified model of the space comprised of orthogonal SketchUp edges and faces, including cut-outs for windows and doors. Models are intelligently organized, so you can toggle the visibility of different outputs using either the Tags panel or the Outliner. Customize Scan-to-Design preferences to dial in the best output for your workflow. Access these settings in Preferences > Scan-to-Design. Requirements: Scan-to-Design requires a LiDAR-enabled iPad and iOS17 or higher. Omnibar – Search for tools and features using industry-standard terms, and Omnibar will recommend tools in SketchUp that match. Omnibar boosts productivity by letting you set custom keyboard shortcuts for any of SketchUp's tools or commands. Ambient Occlusion is a beautiful shading effect that adds a sense of depth to your SketchUp models. You’ll find the settings for Ambient Occlusion in the Styles panel under Face settings. Link Sharing = Live Viewing. Shared links now offer the recipients of those links the ability to join a real-time viewing session and see changes that you're making to the model in real-time. Viewers have the option to navigate the SketchUp model, but when you activate a scene, they'll be pulled back to see the same thing that you're seeing. Diffusion Improvements • Maintain Seed: After selecting a Diffusion-generated image, toggling Maintain Seed allows you to iterate on the chosen image instead of creating an entirely new image. • Negative prompt: Use the Negative Prompt field to specify what you do not want to see in Diffusion-generated images. Bug Fixes We fixed a bug that was causing SketchUp's cursor within the modeling viewport to be offset from the location of the pencil, touch, and mouse input. Here's what's new in v6.4.3 (2049)! IMPROVEMENTS • We’ve updated the iconography that is being used to denote where your files are being stored. - The Trimble Connect storage option is denoted by a cloud icon. Files stored in Connect for which you have view-only access will display a locked cloud icon. Files that live in Connect and are available for offline viewing will display a filled cloud icon with a checkmark. - Files that are stored locally on device in the Sketchup app folder will display a files app icon with the SketchUp app icon overlaid atop it. - Files stored elsewhere in the Files app, either locally, or in a 3rd party cloud service, will display a Files app icon. BUG FIXES • We fixed a bug that was causing SketchUp to crash when importing certain types of DWG files. • The Offset tool offers a shortcut whereby you can double-tap after performing an offset in order to repeat the same offset in the same direction. We fixed a bug that makes this shortcut perform more reliably. • We fixed a bug that was resulting in some weirdness when attempting to customize the radial shortcut menu. • Other misc bug fixes & improvements.

Here's what's new in v6.4.2 (2042)! IMPROVEMENTS • SketchUp Diffusion is now available for you to add to customizable linear and radial shortcut toolbars. • We made a change to the way that Diffusion and Markup scenes interact with Styles, specifically overlay watermarks. It’s now the case that when a scene is deleted in SketchUp for iPad, the Display Watermarks toggle (located under Styles > Watermark Settings) will be automatically toggled off. • We’ve added the option to clear the clipboard so that you can fully dismiss the context menu toolbar when nothing in the model is selected. BUG FIXES • We’ve restored the default keyboard shortcuts (which were inadvertently jumbled in the last release). • We fixed an issue that was affecting the layout of the information that is presented on the About screen in Portrait orientation in iOS 15. • Miscellaneous fixes for missing or incorrect translations and minor Dark Mode inconsistencies.

What's new in v6.4.1 (2037) – Create rendered images in seconds using GenAI with SketchUp Diffusion! SketchUp Diffusion is a new feature that allows you to combine an image of your active SketchUp viewport with a text prompt to create a new, AI-generated image. Diffusion offers a number of options that allow you to define the visual style of the rendered image and control the extent to which either the snapshot of your SketchUp model and/or the text-based prompt, influence the output: • You can access Diffusion from the overflow tool palette (top row). • Once the Diffusion panel is open, you’ll see a snapshot of your SketchUp model viewport and can add a prompt that describes the image you’d like to generate. • Style presets offer shortcuts to generate images with a specific aesthetic. • Settings sliders provide control over the extent to which either your SketchUp model or the text prompt influences the rendered output. • After tapping the Generate button, you’ll see that the service returns three variations that you can tap on to preview. • Add Scene lets you save a selected image as an overlay in your SketchUp viewport. • You also have the option to share/save a selected image. • You can use the Refresh button located in the top right corner of the Preview image to update the input for Diffusion with a fresh snapshot of the SketchUp viewport. • Learn More will take you to the Help Center. • Feedback will take you to the main SketchUp Diffusion section here in the SketchUp Forums. Snaps – SketchUp for iPad now includes the Snaps capability that launched recently in SketchUp for Desktop. • Any existing snaps in your model become visible when tools that can interact with them are active. • You also have the option to add snaps to an object. You can do so by entering Edit Component or Edit Group mode, selecting a face, and then choosing Add Snaps from the context menu toolbar overflow list. • The red rotate grips that used to be available when using the Move tool have been disabled. You can reactivate them via the Preferences panel, under the General Settings tab. IMPROVEMENTS • Autoshape now supports touch input! Simply long-press before sketching one of the supported Autoshape glyphs, and voilà! BUG FIXES • We fixed a bug that was causing the app to crash on iOS 15. • SketchUp for iPad users who have purchased a SketchUp Go subscription via the Apple App store now have access to SketchUp diffusion in China.
