SkinVision is a medical service that provides an immediate risk assessment.
Skin checks with our clinically validated technology are affordable and potentially covered by your health insurance provider. You can buy a single risk assessment or purchase unlimited checks to effectively monitor your moles for 3 or 12 months (no subscription).
You can use some features of SkinVision for free including our risk profile and skin type quizzes, storing images of your moles and accessing UV information in your area.
Skin cancer is a global and growing problem. It's estimated that 1 in 5 people will develop it in their lifetime. More people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year than all other cancers combined.
Early detection is key to prevention and timely treatment. In fact, over 95% of skin cancers can be successfully treated if they are found early. This is why dermatologists recommend performing skin checks every 3 to 6 months. Now you can do this simply with SkinVision on your smartphone.
Our checks use an algorithm to assess your mole or skin spot for cancerous signs. Our service is quality assured by our team of dermatology experts. Our users have received more than 3.5 million risk assessments and we’ve found over 50,000 cases of melanoma and other types of skin cancer.
The SkinVision app is a regulated medical device with European CE marking. We care about your privacy and are ISO certified for information security and medical device management. SkinVision is trusted by insurance companies worldwide for the early detection of skin cancer. SkinVision has partnerships with leading health insurers, cancer clinics and research universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.

Ratings and Reviews
Very helpful
We don’t get a full body check as often as we should but keep a watch on each other to be aware of any changes or new spots. This app is very good for both peace of mind and to push you into action if you get a reading that tells you something is high priority. We have photographed a few spots and one came back high risk. We would have left this longer but the app diagnoses definitely encouraged us to make an urgent appointment to have this cut out and it turned out it was a very accurate assessment. They don’t leave you without backup either, someone follows through to make sure you have dealt with the issue. Highly recommend this app.

A possible life-saver
While not a complete substitute for proper medical diagnosis, SkinVision serves as a useful alarm to alert users to a possibly malignant skin lesion; an early warning, if you like. New Zealand has the highest rate of melanoma in the world, so for Kiwis like me, downloading this app was a no-brainer.
I liked the automaticity of the camera to focus and take when the image is centered and in focus. I also liked the timely responses after submitting the image. What I did find strange was that my lesion was found to be ‘High Risk’ by the computer algorithm, but the professional evaluation just advised check for change after three months. This is quite a discrepancy; as high risk, I was expecting a message to get a medical diagnosis ASAP. The other issue for me was that the lesion was in a place where it was hard for me to copy. I really should have waited until someone else was around to help. My wish, therefore, is that the developers make it possible for the front camera to work. It would have solved that problem.
But overall, this app is definitely a ‘keeper’.
Developer Response ,
Thank you very much for your positive response SZBob and for sharing your valuable feedback. Regarding your feedback, our dermatologists double check every photo for quality purposes, so if at any point we think a user needs to be informed about a risk, we will contact you appropriately. Also, since we want to make sure you receive proper advice, our team of dermatologists provide you with advice on steps to take whenever you receive a high risk. About the front camera, unfortunately we are not able to use the front camera. To take a clear and sufficient photo for our algorithm and dermatologists to assess, the camera needs to activate the flash as an extra light source. Since smartphones do not support flash on front cameras, we are not able to make a sufficient photo. We appreciate your support. If you need any assistance in the future, please contact us at any time. Max IJkelenstam | SkinVision
Great app
Really helpful and no pressure to buy anything. The app people followed up by email after a high risk id. Great service. A skin lesion change occurred and I didn’t want to go to expense of doctor visit if it was nothing. Used the app (free first photo) and it came up high risk. App sent reminders for getting it checked which was helpful. thanks to the app it got removed early and had it been melanoma I wouldn’t have needed much further surgery or skin grafting. I’m keeping this app on my phone. It’s a great resource.
