Great idea
I like the app and loveeee the head phones (wh1000x), being able to personalise really makes it worth the money, sometimes there’s some connection issues to the app but apart from that it’s great, I have changed the ANC button to google assistant but I wish there was a way to keep both for example single press = change ANC setting, then press and hold = google assistant. I also think it would be handy to show an approximate charging time to reach full battery eg (charge for xx amount of minutes for a full charge) since I’m still understanding the fast charge system 😊 thanks
Great Music - Sluggish App
Just bought a new pair of WH-1000XM3 and they’re amazing! Unfortunately I feel the app hinders their capabilities. The UX design makes the experience feel sluggish and tedious.
eg. If I want to switch between two settings out of 5 (call them option A and option D), instead of being able to alternately click A and D to compare the two - I need to scroll between A,B,C and then D to be able to hear both. It means I can’t satisfactorily hear the difference between the two, and it takes a long time for the headphones to have to change settings 4 times. It would be much better if the options were listed vertically, rather than as a horizontal scroll.
There are other issues like this throughout the app but this is my main issue (As well as it taking a bit of exploration to get used to the app, due to it not being intuitive enough). The entire app layout needs to be revisited. Thankfully there have been no performance issues however so I can’t fault that.
Very poor listening experience
I'd like to express my disappointment with app upgrades. I'd rather say it downgrades your customers.
1st, the app had surround sound options such as outdoor, arena, club etc. I (and so many people) enjoyed that. Then you have removed it and added paid apps like Tidal to use with that. That's like a slap in the face to the customers. Pretty much, I buy the headphones, then I have to pay for third parties to have full experience of the headphones, not my own music?
Then most recent update had removed the ability to adjust ambient sound control as well. Seriously Sony? Can you please tell me how to roll back to the earlier app version? I will very much look into other brands in future if you take customers for granted. This is really bad.
