I've been using this app and its previous iterations for a couple of years now on a Touch and iPad. The idea is a good one, but it's never quite delivered with seamlessness or intuitive use. Getting files to sync across devices is the easy bit. What i want is to be able to edit/manage those files on any one of my devices which this seems to struggle with. In this latest version the "open in" feature doesn't work for .epub files.
Perfect for sync backups & cross platform syncing
I use SugarSync to ensure an offsite backup as well as keeping files on my Macs synced with my iPad so that I have everything available with me when traveling with my iPad only. It works a treat!! The iPad app provides the closest thing to an accessible file system on iOS. I have all my documents from my main Mac downloaded to the iPad for fast availability when offline or when online using 3G data that i don't want to burn through too quickly. From in the SugarSync app I can open any file in any other iPad app e.g Pages etc. storage is reasonably priced and uploads / downloads are quick. As a bonus SugarSync enables me to share files with others that are too big to email. This is a well thought out and feature rich sync system.
Very good and very useful.
I have been using this quite a bit - excellent OTA synchronising, and can keep computers in sync as well. However, I was disappointed to see the support for landscape mode go with the most recent update. The ability to work off-line now is brilliant. If landcape support returned and the viewing space maximised, this would be 5 stars all the way. Keep up the good work!
