If you ever see a group of teenagers (or twenty- or thirtysomethings) filming themselves doing literally anything, know this: They’re probably making a video to share on TikTok. Its infinite scroll of new videos combines perfectly edited lip-synching, hilarious sketches, and mesmerizing dance moves with delightful special effects and filters. It’s hard not to fall in love with everyone’s fluffy pets, awkward parents, impressive glow-ups, fails of every kind, and songs and pop-culture references that spark a million memes.
Frenzy Obsession
I absolutely love this app, rate it a 9/10 entertaining, time wasting but enjoyable time wasting and fun. I can make videos with my friends and its a great time. Can create cute videos, and I love seeing other people videos because sometimes others are good at saying the things I can’t say. And it’s good so see other people going through similar hardships. I also get great inspo for fun things I can do with my friends. The o yk downside is more of a one sided thing. This app is so fun that I just get stuck watching it. If your looking for a fun every now and then app then this isn’t the one for you. Getting addicted to this app is unstoppable as as soon as you get it you get the tik tok fever and can’t put it down. This leads to becoming anti social and just sitting around watching it. I’ve lost interest in hobbies as this is all I do know. But none the less that is my problem nothing against the app. Would recommend, generally for 13+ but all around most ages should be fine. Good range of content. A good time!

Strange bias
TikTok is very good at keeping you watching I’ll give them that it’s quite addictive, I can end up in loops scrolling for hours. For some people it will be good to share their content. And you can find fandoms if you’re into that.
But the app often seems to take down my videos for violating content and when I read the guidelines it has NOTHING. My video as removed for “adult nudity” when it was a edit of the character The Spot, THERES NO NUDITY. This is especially strange considering the very weird things you can find on the app, there is a lot of suggestive content and people half naked that TikTok allows the video up. Which I do not think these videos are safe for 13 year olds. A video I saw about other people helping out other people in crutches was age restricted. Also my videos have been removed from the for you page because it was “low quality” when I have seen so many videos almost exactly the same to mine. I’ve seen a trend of not just me a lot of peoples comments get removed yet peoples comments with slurs and hate are kept up. I have reported myself and they have came back with “no violation.”
Another problem I’ve seen a lot of people have is their photo/slideshow mode was taken away. It’s only a certain feature for specific users. The whole thing feels strangely biased. It’s quite disheartening being shadow banned when you put so much effort into you edits.
