Trace Letters & Sight Words 4+

Paid to this as a last ditch effort to get my preschooler interested in The alphabet and numbers etc. I tried everything I could think of and my lil' 4yo just didn't care. Writing letters in glitter glue or macaroni or plain old repetition or creating a rigid school like daily schedule... Nothing worked. Finally, after seeing some ads I caved. I was super skeptical, of course and I really didn't want MORE technology in his life... But darn it it worked! Finally, he cared. When we would go to the store and I would start practicing sounds with stupid games (what things start with the "b" sound?) he was actually playing along! Finally! I still didn't want to rely so heavily on computer time, so in addition to a very structured, school like routine he was allowed to play Trace Letters & Sight Words for up to 1 hour.

My seven year old son was upset one night because he said he felt like he was never going to be smart (even though school assessments have him reading one year above grade level). I decided that he needed a confidence booster, so I bought him Trace Letters & Sight Words so that he can celebrate his successes and relearn skills that he might have struggled with along the way (multisyllabic words and vowel teams). So far, I am thrilled. Instead of wanting to watch TV, he wants to play on Trace Letters.

It's a good learning program. I only wish that when it reads to them it highlighted each word and not the whole sentence.
