Annoying banner ads
This version of tram tracker is plagued by annoying banner ads. A Yarra Trams employee informed me that this 'feature' was designed to inform me of important tram related events. Today those events are: a long running exhibition at the art gallery, an invitation to post photos of Melbourne on social media, and an exhortation to be safe around trams. Please! At least let me opt out.
Great!
I used this on a recent trip to Melbourne, and I found it really handy. My iPhone's GPS worked out what tram stop I was at, and this app told me which tram stop I was at, which trams stopped there, and when the next one would arrive. This info was available on the tram stop anyway, but it was cool having it in the phone, as was typing in the tram number to get a realtime update of where I was. It was a short visit, so I only used it a few times. I expect I'd use even more if I was there for a while.
