Editors' Notes

Lots of apps can offer driving directions—but what if you’re not driving at all? That’s where Transit comes in. The travel planning app shows you how to get from point A to point B via train, bus, rideshare—and now even bikeshare and scooter. The app will seek out your best route, offer a few alternate options, and let you know how long you can expect to be in transit.

No wiggle room

The only complaint is that the app won’t show you earlier leaving times if you have a second leg of the journey. E.g bus 1 leaves every 15mins, but bus 2 every hour. The app will only show me the bus 1 closest to bus 2, with only 2 minutes room for error. Even if I make my leaving time 30mins earlier. After perpetually missing my bus 2 and having to wait an additional hour, I have learned to search the routes separately.

Best public transport app

The latest update really made a difference. It is now easier than ever to plan ahead with diverse options. And the visuals are so simple, direct to point! Nothing too fancy, but enough to make it pleasing to look at.

I used to be frustrated because of the realtime not working, but now I understand that is on the local authority and not the app. Thank you all at Transit app team for this!! The support team is also amazing!
