Description
Vinegar is a Safari extension that replaces the YouTube player with a minimal HTML video tag.
It removes ads, restores picture-in-picture, and keeps videos playing in the background.
Note: The "can read information from webpages" text in the permission section is just unfortunate wording. Vinegar needs access to the web page to find the YouTube player and replace it. It's not doing anything creepy!
(By the way, check out Vinegar's companion app, Baking Soda. It's basically a less powerful version of Vinegar, but it works on all websites other than YouTube.)

Full screen on rotation?
Love the extension, it’s almost necessary with the amount of junk YouTube throws at you these days.
Feature request: is it possible to automatically go into full screen video if the phone is rotated from portrait to landscape?
Great, but buggy bugs
Works great! But often will start a video then stop. Have to refresh page and hope it’s ready to roll second time. Doesn’t like going from portrait to landscape. But great apart from those things
Stuck on first few seconds
Every new Philip DeFranco video always ends up in a Fallback loop where only few seconds are repeated constantly. There is no way to recover beyond disabling the plug in. It's really frustrating. I can provide screen recording if needed
