Easy to use, helpful an intuitive

A must for the enquiring mind
Some people will buy this because they are researchers and want a pocket Mathematica or genetic reference (etc). I bought this as someone who likes reference books and applications, and learning new things. Is it worth $NZ65? Yes. While a look around the App Store might lead you to say it's priced far too high, the reality is that many serious apps are priced unrealistically low. WolframAlpha is something you can try fully through a browser so the capabilities can be judged without a purchase. It seemed logical that using Safari would be a free alternative, but try that and see how convenient it isn't. This app presents the results in an easily readible form. The favourites come in handy, as do the examples. Sometimes (and not often) portrait mode requires too much horizontal scrolling, but landscape mode then works well. The app is easy to use but sometimes I wish it offered word-suggestions. Without suggestions you do a fair bit of typing. So the app could do with minor improvements. The WolframAlpha "engine" is smart, but it can't do everything and knowledge of New Zealand is relatively limited. For example, it makes the assumption that kumara is a language, but if you enter "sweet potato" you get the expected answers. This is a unique app and if you're a thinker you'll love it.
