Easy to use

Great app and the ease of use and especially ordering coffee is great.

The issue I have and it appears many others do as well is the $150 hold on customers bank account / credit card. If z was truly customer centric they would find a way to have this released as soon as the fuel transaction is complete. I’m sure the banking system has constraints and z risk of losing fuel / $ but there must be a better way.
Perhaps a system where after a certain number of fills no hold is taken.

Great idea but not safe

I have happily used this app for almost a year now, always filled in the same gas station, about same amount, I received today a notification of using a pump to fill up with gas for $123 double what I usually put in and which would never fit in my small car, plus the charge came from a gas station I never go to miles from my area, must add my car was with me the whole day, how did this happen? Will not use again, too risky.

This app has no where to easily go and alert the system of possible fraud.

This is an update on my recent post above, I sent a complaint yesterday to their customer service and I also talked to the manager at the gas station involved, both came back to me quickly to respond, apologize and fix the issue, turns out someone had a plate with basically almost the same letters and numbers but one digit which could not be read easily due to damage, and the system read it as mine, that’s how and why my account got charged. Happy all is fixed. Hopefully this can help adjust the system to be better.

Good customer service. Thank you.

Don’t sign up to the Fastlane

I’ve found the App itself great in terms of the rewards etc all being in one place but have a major issue with the security of the Fastlane section. I just filled with petrol in the weekend and was at the opposite end of the forecourt to where the Fastlane was but upon checking my phone after we left, had a message from the app that my car was spotted in the Fastlane so $150 hold has been taken from my card - which it has! I was absolutely no where near the fast lane and was the only vehicle at the station at the time I filled up so this is a major flaw and highlights how easily an error can occur so have removed all my credit card details and would now never use this function

Developer Response ,

Hi there, thanks for your review - really sorry to hear about this.

When your car gets close enough to our Fastlane camera and it recognizes your plate, an authorization "hold" of $150 is put on to your card in anticipation of you buying fuel. In your case, your plate was recognized by our Fastlane camera creating the $150 hold. We would need more information to investigate and confirm the exact details of the incident. If you would like this, please email us at fastlane@z.co.nz and we'll be able to look into this ASAP.

We’re always looking for ways to improve the Fastlane experience and we’re working hard to improve the accuracy of our cameras to prevent holds from being placed unnecessarily placed on Fastlane users cards.

Cheers, ^Emma
