Get started with Apple Pay
Whether you’re shopping at a store, on a website or in an app, Apple Pay is the faster and more secure way to check out. There’s no account to create or card info to enter. And it works seamlessly whether you’re using an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.
Apple Pay works with eligible Visa, Mastercard, eftpos and American Express credit and debit cards. You can rest assured your card number is never shared by Apple with the merchant, nor is it ever stored on Apple’s servers or even on your device. You’ll also continue to earn all the rewards and perks the physical card offers.
Here’s how to get started:
Add a credit or debit card
Launch the Wallet app, tap the plus sign in the upper right corner of the screen, and follow the step-by-step instructions. Once your bank verifies your card, you’re all set.
Shop in apps or on the web
When you check out with Apple Pay in many websites and apps, you won’t have to type in any billing, shipping or contact info – it’s all provided to the app or website by authenticating with Face ID or Touch ID. Simply choose Apple Pay to checkout.
Shop in stores
Apple Pay can be used in any stores where contactless payments are accepted.
With Face ID, double-click the side button, glance at the screen to authenticate with Face ID, and hold your iPhone near the contactless reader. With Touch ID, hold your iPhone near the reader while placing your finger on the home button to authenticate.
With an Apple Watch, double-click the side button and hold the display of your Apple Watch near the reader. Wait until you feel a gentle vibration.
