PlayKids – Learn Through Play offers children unlimited access to fun and educational activities, books, shows and games – all in a safe, ad-free environment.
With a monthly subscription, you and your kids can read more than 4,000 books and cartoons curated by the PlayKids team of experts. You’ll recognise popular characters, such as the Angry Birds, Om Nom from Cut the Rope and Sesame Street friends.
PlayKids also has original content, such as Junior on the Job (a cartoon about an adorable puppy) and Super Hands (a live-action science show hosted by, well, a pair of hands).
PlayKids is recommended for kids aged 2 to 8. For little ones, turn on baby mode to disable all buttons during video playback (so they don’t accidentally tap out). Parents are able to set time limits, videos for offline viewing and even choose the specific content kids will see on the main screen. And if your child is learning another language, you can easily switch the entire app to one of eight supported languages.
PlayKids also generates a handy report, accessible by parents only, on what kids are watching, reading and playing within the app.
If you’re running iOS 12 or later, use Siri Shortcuts to quickly access the videos your kids can’t get enough of. For example, simply say, “Hey Siri, play Junior on the Job.” Or you might set up a custom shortcut (like “Hey Siri, cartoon time”) to shuffle and play all the videos you’ve download. You’ll find suggested shortcuts under the Siri & Search section of your iPhone or iPad’s settings.
