Lovely effort

Great for SME.
Retention option is needed when invoicing for a 5 stars rate

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time and sharing your valuable feedback. Regarding your concern, we presume that you're looking for a retention invoice and we're sorry to say that this option is not available in the Zoho Books iOS application. We've taken this as a feature request and it will be available in the future enhancement. In the meantime, you could use the Retainer Invoice as the workaround. You could create the Retainer Invoice and record payment for them and you could apply it to the actual Invoice. To do that, please follow the below instructions:

To create Retainer Invoice:
• Open to the Zoho Books iOS application.
• Tap the More from bottom right and tap the Retainer Invoice under the Sales section. If the Retainer Invoice does not appear. Please go to Zoho Books web application (https://books.zoho.com/) -> Settings -> Preferences -> enable Retainer Invoice checkbox -> Save.
• Click the + icon from the top right.
• Enter the required details and tap the Save from the top right.

Once the Retainer Invoice is created, record payment for those Retainer Invoice. To do that, please follow the below instruction:
• Open the required Retainer Invoice.
• Tap the More button and tap Mark as sent.
• Tap the Payment button.
• Enter the payment details and tap the Save button from the top right.

To create an Invoice:
• Tap the Invoice from the bottom bar.
• Tap the + icon from the top right.
• Enter the required details and tap the Save button from the top right.

Once the invoice is created, you could apply the retainer payment to the invoice. To do that, please follow the below instructions:
• Open the required Invoice.
• Tap the More button and tap Mark as sent.
• Tap the Payment button.
• Tap Use Retainers from the bottom popup.
• Enter the amount in the Amount Used field of the Retainer invoice that is going to apply for an invoice.
• Tap the Save button from the top right.

Also, if you're using the Payment Gateways to collect payment from your customer, you can enable the option "Allow customer to make partial payment" under the payment gateway, when creating an invoice. So that, you could collect the amount as partial and the invoice status become "Partially Paid". Once, you received the full payment, the status of the invoice became "Paid".
