Preview…I love it!
For a beginner writing in markdown, this is the app. It makes **bold** and *italic* styles be applied with shortcuts. The best part (for me) is I can see how my work in markdown looks like every now and then by hitting CMD+OPT+P. I really like that preview built right into the app. Just a suggestion, in preview mode (and in window mode) when you reach the very top or the bottom and still try and scroll it reveals a white background. I wish it was just the same color as the theme.
Byword works for this writer.
Byword has helped me write several articles and blog posts thanks to its comfortable distraction and noise-free environment. It's easy to use and its Plain text mode is enough for me to transfer and edit content in any kind of CMS. The only improvement I would like to see is if it can block or hide notifications (ie. Growl) better, as I can still see the pop-ups during full-screen mode.
