EastWest Mobile 4+

This is the slowest banking app I have tried and the UI is not friendly. There is no tab for bill payments and you have to search thru each tab just to find it - because it is a separate option under the deposit account tab.

Payments made via the app from the deposit account to an East West card will not post real time and takes the same processing time if I paid using another account from a different bank via online.

Payments have no notification, no receipt, no text, no email, no acknowledgement. You have to just keep on checking the app for when the payment will be posted.

I have different online banking app the this app tops the list of my worst experience using online banking. I bought a phone case last 2021 using my EW CC, as I was converting it to installment the app crashed and I didn’t receive any confirmation that my request pushed thru, ( no text nor email). I tried again but the app is so slow and keeps in crashing. I called their costumer service and was advised to try using the FB messenger of their Card, and I did. The bot approved my request for conversion. But then later I found out that my first attempt for installment was approved thru their app at the same time thru their FB messenger and I was asked to pay both installment separately coz according to them the app and the fb messenger is using a separate system and I was deducted another 7k by the FB bot coz it can’t find the original 7k I was applying for installment thru their online app because it was approved already from and I need to pay both the installment!! Who’s the stupid person who thought that they need a separate system from the mobile app and the FB bot?!? Who programmed this bot to deduct another amount if it was already converted in the first place? if it already didn’t exist in the first then it should have just denied the application!!😡😡😡😡😡

My main gripes: 1) app takes too long to be updated (as you can see, last update was made 10mos ago. That’s horrible for a financial service that requires regular security updates). 2) UI looks dated, slow and clunky. 3) transactions take way too long to show in the app. Not sure why this is the case when some banks can do it after 24hrs 3) limited features: there’s no option to report a lost card or request for a new one, or to chat, these should be baked right into the app so customers can reach out without having to call cust svc. Requesting a card replacement for non-fraud instances requires you to contact them via their Messenger acct. What the heck. Why??? Why entrust this service to a company that is known for a lot of misinformation and data leaks?? And mind you, not everyone has a FB/Messenger in this day and age. How are you going to service those customers then? Do they not matter to you?
