This app is in need of updating to make it work properly. No amount of troubleshooting, rebooting phone can fix sluggish performance. Top up load, or pay bills, each section loads painfully slow, 10s of seconds go by waiting for the keyboard to appear so you can type. The app gets slower to use every time I use it. You have to wait 30 or 40 seconds for numberpad to appear to enter the amount of a bill. When you click on a field it should be usable instantly, that's how a proper app works... Not GCash though. Trying to pay by QR is not fun. Often now the stupid QR reader just stares forever at the QR but can't process it. It's embarrassing to use it when there is a queue as it will always let you down. Then to cap it off we are getting half a dozen spam messages / notifications from GCash everyday now trying to trick us into using one of their 3rd party services. Why in the last 2 months these notifications have increased so much I don't know. Never used to be an issue but they are relentless in notifying of offers and such from third parties. I don't like it, and no other financial service app I use does the same, this is scummy by GCash. No options to disable them either, so may have to disable them by not using GCash at all. Fix your app and stop the spammy behavior. We registered our numbers to cut down on spam and look at GCash just trolling us now with 20 to 30+ spam notifications every week.
My old sim card which was registered to a gcash account got deactivated about five months ago. So, I bought a new sim card and did numerous attempts on getting it verified, as a minor they asked me additional requirements like a copy of my birth certificate, my mom’s number etc… But since I was away from home the last time I submitted a verification request which was about 2-3 months ago, I did not have a copy of my birth certificate with me. So I simply exited the app to try and ask my mom for a copy of it since there was an option wherein you can input a downloaded image from your gallery. But as soon as I received the message of my mom with an attachment of my birth certificate I went back to the app only to find out that the form in which you can fill out the additional requirements sought from minors have already been exited as well so I looked everywhere in the app to find that form, I couldn’t find it anywhere so I decided to submit another verification request but it already submitted the previous one without the additional requirement by itself, and ever since then I have not verified my account because it still says it’s pending verification. Take note that the last time I submitted a verification report was 2-3 months ago. I actually submitted another verification request prior to the last one and I also faced the same issue except it didn’t last as long as the last one and it only took a week for them to respond to my request which they declined. Honestly a part of this was sort of my mistake, but the inconvenience is reaching a degree that I have never encountered before on any banking app.
I couldn’t log in at a crucial time because it needed updating, which i did update, and then continued to tell me that there was an error in signing in. My internet was perfectly fine, and so was my phone. One time, I didn’t even notice that the insurance thing was on once because it was automatically enabled, without permission. So basically, other than the cash out fee, it also charged extra for a cash insurance LITERALLY NOBODY asked for. My allowance is sent through GCash— I had to starve for DAYS just because their lousy system was down; even after charging me extra for a pointless scam insurance! Can’t even serve as a proper banking app, yet it offers medical insurance, too? lol. Where does your revenue and extra charges even go? The old bugs and glitches are still not fixed, yet there are so many unnecessary, unhelpful features (which might not even work properly). Have submitted multiple reports about my cancelled transactions to fast food that didn’t receive my money; confirmed the cancellations and said they would return it after 24-48 hours, days passed and it never returned— daylight robbery, scammy af, unreliable, don’t trust the automated five star reviews, they know they have a bad reputation so they try to make up for it by buying bots to rate them. I highly encourage to stop using, you will only lose money.

2 weeks ago, all of a sudden I am unable to access my GCASH. I thought it was just because I went to a remote area where internet is really slow/poor. After I have good internet connection I am still unable to use it. I ensure that my internet is okay, GCASH app doesn’t have any update. I uninstall and reinstall it. Restart my phone and all I can do on my end. Still same thing. I still have funds to it. So then I decided to contact customer service. The 2882 is unable to reach and leave me no choice but to contact via help support. They mentioned that they restricted the account and they asked me all my government issued ID which I provided. They even asked me to take a selfie of those ID Together with the Simcard that I am using. A screenshot of the phone number as a proof that it is inserted in my phone which I was able to provide all of them. When I asked them what’s the violation and I asked them many times they are unable to answer it. For the past 2 weeks I keep on doing follow up and they keep on telling that they are working hand in hand? How ironic to tell me hand in hand where in they will only respond to my email after 2 days when I asked for a follow up and they even don’t know what I have violated. This is so frustrating and customer service is VERY POOR. I Have funds there and GCASH is clearly getting my HARD EARNED MONEY. Do not install it
This app gets so many negative reviews but it’s actually not that bad. It’s really made things more convenient. I get to avoid long lines especially in banks, since you can deposit using this app. You just have to go cash in through machines and other partner establishments which have no lines usually. It has also been a great help during the quarantine. Also there’s no convenience fee when paying bills when using their service unlike other apps where they charge you for it. I did encounter times where deductions to my fund were made despite transactions failing but i contacted customer service and filed a form and was refunded (just provide proof and you’re good). There was also one time where I cashed in to a wrong account (I typed a wrong number) with 15k and called the customer service and they were able to transfer it back to my correct account (again just provide proof like transaction numbers and receipts and you’re good). Yeah those took some time but it’s typical in our country to have slow processing when it comes to these things so it was understandable. I also like the plant a tree thing they have in the app.
I had an unauthorized transaction from my gcash app and they took all my money. I disputed it and told me that they cannot return ut because the transaction wa AUTHORIZED. As expected. I have known so many people that had the same issues as I did, and in some, larger amounts, and they too get the same reply from you. Have you seen you reviews online? More specifically about this issue? Never have I ever came through merely one review/comment where you provided resolution to one of your subscribers that had the same issue as mine. ALL, and I mean all of them got the same unresolved issue as mine because you, chose to turn a blind eye that your company’s name and logo’s and app are compromised and are being used to scam subscribers like me. You never retirned all of our money though you know that we have been scammed! I mean why would I waste my time disputing 3000 if I authorized the transaction? Does that make any sense to you at all??? What’s worse, it has not only been happening to me, but to so many people I know and YOU chose to ignore these issues. Oh well. Take my money, for all I care. But I will tell my story to everyone I know and I will warn everyone I know most specially those who use your app and that how bad your customer service is. That you NEVER ever provide any resolution to your customers!
Please dont download this app. My money got stolen for 7715 pesos and I reported the issue but instead of helping me getting back my money, they switched my account to basic and they accused me for violating their rules. First of all, I only reported once in my entire journey in this app. Second, I was only waiting for their response and almost all of my questions were via email because the conversation between me and their technical team in the 'Help' section sometimes disappear, so how am I violating their rules? I even received an uknown message from Gcash about a KYC transaction which I did not do and I also shared this with them but all they got to say is they're working on it, working on it. When I reported this matter, they said that " I know you'd like this matter to get resolved as soon as possible" excuse me? I was only reporting that within the period of them investigating my account, I received another fraud message and they're contemplating its as if I am rushing them to resolve the matter. So if you're concerned about your money, just dont keep it with Gcash. They're unbelievable. It's like I'm talking with a robot. I was with them for years and they switched me back to basic account just because I reported that my money got stolen by them. I should've believe the humors about this app.
Gcash should improve customer service. I’ve experienced gcash apps crashing meaning it did not loading every time I click it. This happen after I transfer funds on my account but a week before the problem I encountered 4x change MPIN due to 90 day’s expiration as per app’s requirements in just 7 days 4x change MPIN. Something fishy??? As it goes on I requested a ticket online on their website to resolve problem and did also call the super very hard customer support hotline (9x call before I was attended). Both ticket has nothing to do to fix my issue, so I made a decision to used other gcash apps then switched my account to their gcash app just to transfer all my funds and made account deletion request. A ticket was generated for the request deletion but the customer support always requested the same information and documents to delete my account were in I already settled all on the the gcash app when I requested a account deletion as well as on all the emails related to the ticket number for account deletion. The funny thing also one of the government ID I did submit says it’s not a valid ID’s… huh!!!! Until now my account was not yet deleted. Just hoping my account will not be used in any wrongdoing by others… Not recommend customer support of this apps.
Honestly, I always wonder why most merchants are using this crappy platform where in PayMaya and other online payment platform are way more better. I hate seeing a GCash payment only so I am forced to use this hassle and annoying platform. Main issue? Plenty! 1.) Non-Real time payment - Most of my payment from online merchants are sometimes real time but most of the time are not. 2.) Double Charge payment - Since most of the payments are not in real time, GCash will collect the payment again even if the payment has already been collected from the merchant upon initial transaction. 3.) Poor platfrom - Gcash always updating their platform yet their services still on unsatisfactory. This payment glitches should have been fix a long time ago since the platform has been out for a long time. 4.) Chat box for assistance - I have tried to contact to fix the issue yet I even got frustrated! So hard to talk to someone and the chat bot sends unreliable and irrelevant response to my question. I always ignore this double payment since before but now I realize I have been wasting a lot of money and I feel like this GCash people are stealing money from me! Hopefully other merchant consider other online payment platform so I can delete this useless and stupid Gcash!!!
