SLS Camera for Paranormal Investigators with night vision capabilities
GhostTube SLS Camera detects humanoid bodies and homogeneous shapes in your environment similar to the way in which a traditional SLS camera works.
On devices equipped with Apple's LiDAR technology, GhostTube SLS Camera uses a projected grid of infrared light to detect depth and for better visibility in the dark. Our complex algorithms use data gathered from the camera and depth sensors to detect people and people shaped objects with accuracy that surpasses that of the Kinect SLS cameras. For devices lacking LiDAR, the app will instead rely on dual lens cameras to measure depth in a similar way to how the human eye detects depth - triangulation of objects based on data from multiple lenses. Some light may be required due to the size or lack of sensors depending on the device you're using.

Although GhostTube SLS Camera offers some low light filters, the app is not intended as an aid for seeing in the dark. Always use adequate lighting on your paranormal investigations. Certain shapes and patterns may trigger figures to be mapped by GhostTube SLS Camera.

Does NOT Use LIDAR to Detect
Tested the app for a couple of days. With light it does recognize human-looking objects, but in the dark it does not work in detecting the same objects in the same positions. Using another camera (the LIDAR is actually visible when you aim a Macbook Pro webcam at the LIDAR sensor), the app appears to only use the LIDAR sensor to focus, but not in detecting. Another clue is that the app falsely detects photos of humans, which should not be the case if it was indeed using LIDAR for detection. iPhone 12 Pro.

Updates to three stars. Yes, there is no theory that spirits manifest only in the dark; however, perhaps the detection algorithms can be improved, because there is no “depth” in a framed photograph of a human, yet the app “detects” the human in the photograph itself.

We recommend using a light source because our people detection algorithm uses a combination of depth data and dual lens cameras for highly accurate results. LiDAR will give you night vision capability though, but if you want people tracking you need an additional light source (the flash should be enough). There is no theory or studies that suggests spirits can only manifest in the dark. As our app uses a combination of depth and lens data it is expected behaviour to detect people in photographs.
