Best card game?
Its a pretty solid card game and super fun to play once you get a hang of it, and each game can last from a couple of minutes to at most 15 and very rarely more. You can hear a lot of complain how its pay to win or super expensive to get new decks, well actually as a free to play player myself and havent spent anything on this game, i can day that iv’e pretty much grinded the decks i want by doing quests everyday, sure it takes a while but hey, i didnt spend anything so who am i to complain? If theres anything ill complain about is how much crafting legendary cards cost, 1600 is just too much, they should lower it to at least a thousand.
Played off and on for 3 years and still enjoy it
So, I do not usually submit reviews for games because why review something that will be boring and dead in 6 months? Well, Hearthstone has been anything but boring and in my opinion has been even less pay to win lately. This current expansion has been very good for me as with just quests and arenas I have gotten 4 or 5 legendaries already. I am not quite a F2P player but I buy packs rarely enough to make a difference. Some of the budget decks lately have also been very inexpensive (in dust) to craft and climb up the ladder with as well so even as a F2P player you can be quite competitive.
Pay 2 Win? Yes. Will it be impossible to win? No.
Been playing this game since 2014 on PC. Never spent a dime on it. You just have to get around the fact that this game is indeed, pay 2 win. You simply can’t change the game’s mechanics rely on opening packs for random cards.
If you’re a free 2 play user, chances are, you’ll have to spend a lot of time grinding gold and opening packs just to get some Legendary card you need for your deck.
But I’ve seen people play and win on ranked using free decks (no legendaries, no crafting), just cards that came free for everyone.
The biggest gripe right now is how random the game is. Card drawing is random enough as it is, but they decided to randomise effects too. Even big Legendaries that should be helpful ends up killing you due to randomness.
Aside from those, the game is accessible and really enjoyable. Oh, have I mentioned they’re always giving out free stuff whenever a new expansion comes? Or Solo adventures where you test your deck building prowess in order to slay AI controlled bosses?
