Description

After the peace in the Lost Lands was restored, Susan decided to restore her own world. She had become a dedicated mother and a grandmother. All that reminded her of her previous adventures were the stories she told to her granddaughter under the guise of fairytales. But like mother, like son. Jim couldn't walk by the artifact of the Lost Lands that was found on Earth. Accidentally, he unleashed an ancient curse. So now Susan has to return to the Lost Lands one more time to save her family.

A step back from the previous titles
This is a 5 stars for the casual gamer. It is possible I've played many other puzzle, escape or adventure games that probably set the bar too high for five-bn games. When compared to the creativity of the best Japanese escape games, the puzzles are very easy to the point of being trivial. In retrospect, the series seem to fit the category of hidden objects a lot more.
The worst offender for this 8th installment of the series is forcing the player to go back and forth between areas. For example, the player could've picked up the blue chalk in the archaelogical site but the game won't allow it. Later on, we are forced to go back when the it is triggered by the pouch on the horse's side in the academy. Veteran players know to pick up every trinket or item in case it is needed. This time, the game forces you to leave the items so that you are compelled to go back. This discouraged me from continuing further and finishing the game.
I recall five-bn already perfecting the balance between self-contained areas and overarching puzzles. It's quite fascinating that the gameplay regressed not accidentally but intentionally. I'm a long time fan since Lost Lands 1 and am saddened that I lost the patience to play your games.

Just ok
Sadly I had to uninstall it halfway into the game. I just didn't have the patience to be clicking same places again and again. Why can’t we just pick up items as we go by like the previous Lost Lands?
Storyline was meh, not much of a backstory. No catch ups on our favorite characters, convo with other NPC seems purely transactional.
You gave our characters emotions, humor and attitude from 5-7, what the heck happened??
