I really like that we now have an option for a very affordable animation program however there are several things that I hope would be fixed and added. I really hope you’d add quickshape, lasso tool, and layering options while on flipbook like option to switch layers on flipbook and do clipping mask, and alpha lock really soon because that is going to be really helpful. I also noticed that the colors are getting lighter and lighter as I add more frame. Like for example I will choose black and 4 or 5 frames later it will be grey and few more frames later it will be a much lighter grey. I hope this will get fixed because it’s annoying. I’ll probably change my rating to 5 if these are added or gets fixed. Loving it so far though just lacking a few features.

Good for its release

I believe it’s a good app on first release! But as said on the reddit thread regarding the features and tools as well as other users that commented, i think it needs more where Procreate is known for like selection/lasso for objects in a content or group, autoshape, undo and redo buttons, and layers etc.

I also dont like where the app has a cool edit selection tool that has grouping and readjusting the length of the content or group but you cant move all of them at once. You have to move them one by one and it’s just not time-efficient. To add to moving frames, it’s difficult to find where the last frame is when you move one frame in between two frames when the last frame is at the group’s end! Like i have to stretch the group to find the last frame. Instead of making it adjust farther away to the point where it’s no longer visible, why not adjust the time length of the group/content?

I also have encountered a bug where audio doesnt work when you switch to another app which really bugs me because i have to go back, close the app, and open it for it to work again.

Look, I’m fascinated that I have Procreate dreams, that I no longer have to do animatics on the OG procreate [heck I even love the importation of procreate animation assisted files to Dreams] but please fix problems that cause inefficiency because it ruins the joy of creating and editing in the app.

Good fun and has potential but still has some issues

I enjoy and still planning to use Procreate Dreams because its a promising software and the performance feature is one of the highlights of the app. The grouping layers are fun to play around with when I got familiar with its controls and gestures. I want to use this app as a compositing phase for my animations and integrate it with other softwares in my workflow.

The major issues I have is that, importing image sequences that are more than 100 images tends to mess up the sequence and duplicate the images which is very annoying and disheartening. I tried to find multiple fixes and reinstalling the app but it still has the same issues.
Another suggestion i have is to add a selection tool in drawing mode and addressing the changing quality of the brushes when you draw zoomed in or out. It would be nice to have the same flip book ui in Procreate rather than flipping through one frame at a time found in Dreams.

Pleassee, if you address the image sequence issues then I will be happy. Or if you add in a Pro Res 4444 format support in importing videos that would be nice as well.

In terms of the image sequence as well as brush resolution issues, they are indeed issues that we are currently aware of and are actively working on bringing a fix in future patches. Besides, we have also noted down your suggestion in regard to Flipbook. Additionally, we do have some good news for you - ProRes 4444 is a supported export format in the current version of Procreate Dreams. To export your movie in ProRes 4444, tap the Movie Title to enter Movie Settings > Share > Custom settings > Video codec, in the dropdown list, select ProRes > ProRes 4444. 🤗
