Description
This app has been designed by researchers at the University of Oxford to help you manage your weight as part of the Adults Regulating Their weight Everyday with Mobile Internet Support (ARTEMIS) study.
The idea behind the app: there is rarely a ‘one size fits all’ solution to weight loss. We know from previous research that different approaches work for different people. The idea of the app is to help you try out several weight loss actions (e.g. brisk walking or cutting out snacks) and learn from your successes and failures. It’s like you’re experimenting on yourself! Every time you try out a new action, you can monitor your weight and gain a clue about whether the action works for you. You can then use this information to decide whether you want to continue doing this action or try another. We will support you to build a set of personalised actions that you have tested for yourself and that work for you – your very own “Action Toolbox”. You can then use this toolbox as a matter of usual practice to help control your weight going forwards.
