Description
Welcome to the NEW Good Morning App!
Great Morning helps you start the day off right. Clear your mind, relax, jump into a happy mindset, organize your thoughts, and prepare for a productive day with minimal stress or distraction. Research has shown that the steps Great Morning walks you through will make you happier and more productive.
How to use the app:
Following these 10 steps, starting first thing in the morning, will make your overall day more relaxed, more focused, more productive, and happier.
START DAY RIGHT: In the morning, even if you're still in bed, the FIRST THING you should do on your phone is open "Great Morning" and log in (don't check news, email, etc.)
1.) CLEAR YOUR MIND: List each thing that is floating around your mind – thoughts, feelings, ideas, etc. The app will save these thoughts so you don't have to hold them in your unconscious, cluttering your mind and secretly guiding your emotions.
2.) CALM YOUR MIND: Using the timer, meditate to calm your mind, for anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes. Try to keep your mind clear, and if any of your thoughts from the previous page come back into your mind, let them drift away, remembering they are saved in the app.
3.) CULTIVATE A HAPPY MINDSET: With the blank slate of your calm mind, get into a happy mindset by listing 3 things you are grateful for. Research has shown that listing things (even simple things) your are grateful for can actually make you happier!
4.) TRANSITION TO PRODUCTIVITY: If you are still in bed, get out of bed and leave the bedroom. Your bedroom should be a place of tranquility, and by doing the next steps somewhere else or after breakfast helps you separate your work and your rest.
5.) BUILD YOUR TO DO LIST:
a.) Without checking email, list all the tasks you have to do. Don't worry about listing them in any particular order, just write them down to get them out of your mind. You can refer to the thoughts you wrote down earlier by hitting "view today's thoughts."
b.) Check your email, and add any tasks based on it. If there are things you want to reply to in 3 minutes or less go ahead, but if the an email is going to require a lot of time or some other task first, list it on your to do list.
c.) Check your calendar or anything else that contains tasks for the day and list them here.
Click "Done entering tasks!"
6.) PRIORITIZE: Now arrange your tasks by priority. Put the one(s) you should do first at the top and the ones you should do last at the bottom. This way, you only need to focus on on thing, the thing that is top priority. Click "Done rearranging."
7.) CALMLY FOCUS: Work on the one task listed on this page. By only working on one task, you will minimize stress. When done with that task click "Done!" and your next task will appear.
- RE-PRIORITIZE: If a new task emerges throughout the day or your priorities change, you can click "add task" or "rearrange tasks." Any tasks you don't finish will be automatically on your list for tomorrow.
8.) CONSOLIDATE THOUGHTS: Hit "done for the day!" to get to the final page where you can write down any final thoughts for the day. There are things that are on your mind, which you don't want to think about this evening, but maybe you will want to remember tomorrow. Clear your mind of these by writing them down. And then hit "Done. Ready to Relax!"
9.) ENJOY A RELAXING REST, FOLLOWING YOUR HAPPY AND PRODUCTIVE DAY!
