Unfortunately there is a bit of a misconception surrounding app development and the huge amount of work that takes place behind the scenes (new updates, new features, new effects running costs etc.). We are a small team that works full-time to make Werble an amazing experience for our users. Werble is a free download and most of the effects are free too. There are no ads in Werble and there is no obligation to purchase anything - you can use Werbleapp for free forever if you wish.

In order to make this work we must balance it by charging a fair price for various optional in-app purchases which are all one-time purchases where the content is unlocked forever, often for less than the price of a cup of coffee. This recompenses our efforts for providing a user-friendly creative art tool that can be enjoyed by everybody, and means that you only pay if you find value in the specific effects or features. You can also get discounts by looking at our discounted bundles - multiple packs for reduced total price. We will certainly be adding more and offering more value over time. 😊👏

After my recent review on this app which explained that this seems a trojan horse or a phishing attempt by app to get my password, developers responded with info, explaining that why i was seeing those requests and to stop them. And after some tests, I concluded that they are right to in many aspects, however I still have some confusions regarding use and requests for password for which I’ve already requested the info on clarification of conflicting experience.

By the way, the app is really really great. And you still get bundles of free content if you’re not able to purchase. Purchase-able content is really exciting too, and not that much expensive either. Give it a try!

Hi Farooq, the reason for this dialogue is that our in-app content is hosted and delivered through Apple iTunes. The in-app purchases you get (free or paid) download from iTunes and are bound to your Apple ID so that you can restore them for free across all of your iOS devices in future. Apple needs your Apple ID to process the transaction, deliver the download and bind it to your account. Consequently, what you are seeing is an iOS system dialog which is controlled by Apple, and who need your credentials to verify transactions against your Apple ID. In addition, Werble will sometimes make a call to Apple to double check whether you have any previous purchases on your Apple ID that are available for you to restore. Currently, this occurs once per install automatically (usually on second use), and also when you go to Settings > Restore Purchases.

You are 100% correct to be wary of phishing. It is technically possible to fabricate a dialog similar to the official iOS one that you see in Werble, however there is one very obvious way to check. An app that fabricates the iOS dialog must do so within its own shell - it cannot generate a "system" dialog outside of itself that prevents the home button from being used.

In Werble, when this Apple ID dialog pops up - press the home button. Nothing will happen because this is a genuine iOS system dialog. If the app itself were fabricating this view for phishing, pressing the home button would background the app and send the dialog with it. This dialog is actually Apple's system dialog asking you to confirm your iTunes login in order to transact with Werble's in-app purchases, we have no access to your personal data whatsoever.

Again - we aren't phishing, this is an official iOS system dialog that arises because Apple delivers our content for us. We recommend you do your own research and verify what we're saying. You can prevent this pop-up by relogging in iOS Settings > iTunes & App Store. If you received a pop-up seemingly at random, it could be that there is a transaction stuck in the queue (such as a download). These dialogs are triggered by Apple's payment queue, and as such it is recommended to give your details and let the transaction process - otherwise Apple will keep requesting it until you do. I love this app very much! But there are only a few filters for the starter packs and for new you have to buy them but overall I like this app
