Who has time to read these days? We do! That’s thanks to Blinkist’s brilliant summaries of top non-fiction books. Not only are the articles packed with insight into business, culture and self-improvement, they’re designed with busy schedules in mind. Seamless switching between text and narration is super-useful on the go, and finding topics couldn’t be simpler.

the idea of the app is nice

the sheer idea is amazing - perfect app for those who have no time for the actual reading. I have some suggestions though for improvement: 1. allowing readers to copy the text so facilitate language learning (pasting the passages to the translation application would do) 2. while using the app one cannot look at the text and stop the audio at the same time, one has to cease reading and then go to the audio page and then stop the audio, only then one is able to come back to reading page and than it has to be repeated when a person is ready to continue listening to the audio, which is iñ inconvenient.

I have some suggestions for this app after few years of use:

- it would be nice to see a deeper mode for night reading. Like just a white (grey) text on a full black screen. No battery, notifications etc. On iP 14 Pro the screen is kinda floating. The white text on a dark green background seems to change shades. Some of the lines sometimes appear lighter than the one an eye is currently pointing. Hard to explain this but I observe this for a longer while. The whole reading expression needs to be more catchy for a brain focus.
- going further, i’ve seen somewhere a text with a bold first vowels / letters and it’s job was to hook better people with adhd. It was very short but I must admit I could have read much faster with it. Maybe this feature would be quite innovative
- every text inside the blinks has: the key message here is … . I think it’s unnecessary to write it. If this would be put in a frame or different font the job would be done better and less text on the screen
- I think blinkist needs to firstly find a way to get users spend time more inside the app. Maybe some short text max 2 minutes, some interesting facts or interesting quotes to be scrolled like an instagram. Maybe some nice pic of an authors or book covers and best parts of blinks max 2 min read
