  • Nice app but still lack a few things

    Amorgos77

The origin of this app is from journalising and it's great for that. It seems to be more universal recently having more and more functionalities like scanning, etc. Thanks that it could be used as universal notepad like othe popular notepad apps (e.g. Evernote, etc.). Comparing to other apps one thing is really better - focus on dates and callendar so it is easy to keep track of business meetings, etc. but it still lack a few things which are present in typical notebooks apps like good tags and advanced filter managamanet, better formating options, exporting to different formats, etc. but they ar not big issue.

  • Using it for years!

    M..007

I love the app - it's simplicity, features and that it's always with me - no matter which device I have closest atm. One thing that I would love to have is support for handwriting notes. I'm using Apple Pencil and I love to write my journal with it. It's even more personal that way, you can doodle if you feel like to. Would really appreciate if you will consider adding such option. Thanks Guys! Doing amazing job :)

  • Long time user

You can see the potential of this app after using it for a long time. In my case it's from 2016. It's nice to see how your life is changing over the years. App itself is simple, nothing to compain about. One of the most important feature is touch id logging. Keeping my daily notes private is single the most important thing for me.

  • Very nice app!

    Sajmoody

Although it's paid, I enjoy it very much. Simple desing allowing just to do what it's supposed to do. Nice text edditor, simple adding photos, multiple diaries for multpile purposes (every day note, trainings, thoughts). Great view tabs, allowing to see your notes in different ways. And sync working perfect. It's exactly what I could want from a diary app.

  • No support, no updates

    Running owl

I've tried the app again after 4 years to find very little has changed. The main difference from my perspective from paid to subscription, is audio and video. Those were available four years ago. They are still terrible experiences. Audio still has a 10 min limit and the transcription uses Apple's own service, which is junk. Why am I paying for using something you get for free from Apple? The video? Again, using Apple technology but worse--no transcription available at all! I've requested support (apparently premium) for an issue in the app but am yet to receive a response a week later. It's sad I have no recourse other than to give this review. Shame on you! Shame on for not providing any value for subscribers and marketing features that cost you nothing to develop because they're already developed by Apple.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your support and your feedback. Users that paid for Day One before we switched to the subscription business model keep all that they paid for forever, including indefinite maintenance updates to keep the app functional on future devices and OS updates. We moved to the subscription model to be able to stay in business. We love Day One and believe it to be a “lifetime” app. We don’t have ads and we don’t sell your data. Paying for Day One allows us to employ wonderful software engineers, support staff, and maintain unlimited online syncing for your data. http://help.dayoneapp.com/premium-subscription/day-one-premium-faq

  • I like the app, I dislike sync

    Fecibobe

I don't feel comfortable with syncing done by another company. I understand that they wanted to replace iCloud with something that was easier for them to work with. However, I'd rather minimise number of companies that have my data. And it's hard to not use iCloud in this ecosystem.Because of that I had to forfeit switching devices for making entries and eventually started experimenting with other apps.

  • the best app for writing diary

    mka133

Easy, intuitive and simple but with lot of needed features - like callendar view, picture attachments, creating the diary from pictures with geolocation, map view etc...

  • App is great, however....

    darados

Guys, I am a Polish native and, unfortunately, Polish translation is not acceptable. You should never use a machine translation into Polish without reviewing the outcome by a native speaker. Machine translation into Polish simply does not work. Please, add the option to choose the app language or simply kill the Polish language version, seriously. I'd really rather use it in English. Apart from this, great job :)

Thank you for this feedback. If you would like to submit some suggestions we would be happy to get them fixed up. dayoneapp.com/contact

  • Just works

    pawczu

I like the fact that Day One just works. It is stable and smooth. I don't require a lot of sophisticated options. I mainly want stability, becasue jourinaling is about a life time habit. Great product

  • Smart choices

    bartgnk

As an app developer myself I know how hard it is to balance subscription and one time-off features. Day One does incredible job in that!

  • Very good app

    mailo1976

It helps to stay focused on your day. Premium features - like adding up to 30 images to one entry let you vivid your memories.

  • Love it for simplicity and convenience
