No portrait mode…

It works fine actually except for the lack of portrait mode, which is extra annoying, when using the keyboard…. And then no “send” function from keyboard - hitting ENTER just adds a new line. Must touch the “send” button on the screen.

Protection and safety only for some

After receiving an unjustified and outrageous ban concerning minor protection, my account - with which, furthermore, I had an already paid subscription - was permanently suspended. I am completely up for an strict policy and punishment of those who indeed misuse or have a negative usage of the app to harm, in any way, another user. It seems to me not only hypocritical, if you read Grindr terms and conditions, yet absolutely nonsense that the team behind allegations and claims against other user’s behaviour are not properly investigated. I, who always have treated users with the respect I also like to receive, have been the recipient of many homophobic, xenophobic and hateful messages and comments from others that have remained unpunished and unaddressed. Which leads me to the conclusion that the app does not help all users equally. This policy of blocking accounts with no information, no proof and not even allowing innocent people to appeal is just unacceptable and unfair. Similarly as the ghosting and cancelling culture we live in, this actions protect very little to the expense of others who end outcasted by an app that prides itself on their inclusiveness.

Poor UX

With every update Grindr gets more annoying. This time, opening the app shows the privacy policy and the screen to accept or reject cookies (if the selection works we will never know). It would be ok to have it one time. But now every time the app launches, the screen is shown.
Maybe the company wants to include the option to save this setting on the paid subscription (as many other simple features).
Honestly. I use this app less often than ever before. And is very unfortunate that people keep using this as the “only” option to meet gay guys. Disappointing!
