I was looking for a comfortable editor. For everyday work I used Vim, but at some point I needed just simple editor that not only is used for writing but also work smoothly. I have tried several and finally, about two years ago I tried IA Writer. Then, I felt like it is OK, but did not want to buy it due to the price. Recently I get back to the idea of purchasing as I did not find other one that made me comfortable. Now I decided to buy IA Writer and I’m happy with that.I’m impressed how nice is the IA Writer. It works smoothly and makes a feeling the text and the writer are the only two in the room. The only feature that I’d be happy to see is the export to LaTex format (like Typora does).Based on my experience with IA Writer and IA Presenter it came to me that the mail client from the same developers would be perfect for many IA Writer users. That is especially true if one could use the same text editing pleasure as implemented in IA Writer.

Minimalistic but with convenient options. It's easy to write here, you can combine files into even whole document or book. Works fast, no problem with synchro.The only think I feel a lack of is side notes. Sometimes, when you write it's needed to keep all ideas. Worth the price.

I work with markdown almost every day, and though there is a plethora of tools available that support markdown I find myself always going to iA Writer. It is a beautiful app that helps me focus on the task, I simply enjoy writing stuff with that app, I want to write in it, which makes even a daunting task like tech documentation enjoyable.

I love the look and feel of iA Writer when I write something, but when it comes to files handling, you got a "middle ages" approach. Why can't you do something like Ulysses where you don't need to "Move the file to a folder" when you create it? This whole "You're editing document outside iA Writer Library" is extremely annoying and time-consuming when you try to work on more than one file at the moment...

The app itself is beautifully simple, and well suited for both academic and literary activities. I have forgotten Word whatsoever, and almost ceased to use Pages since I bought it. The iA staff offers support in areas such as tweaking and customizing the templates, if you need a non-standard output.

Great app. they should only slightly work on the modernization of the appearance (current minimalism is outdated. It would be better like the Things app. But this is a subjective) and improve the convenience of managing and saving notes.

I love to use this app for writing articles, works, notes, posts and books. I just love it. Simple, clean and fast.

I'm in love! iA Writer helps me to be strongly focused on the context. Dark mode works perfectly. I love writing everywhere, no matter on which device. Starting on iPhone and finishing on the Mac. That's how it should works.

Simple, efficient application which gives me a lot as an application for ech type of noteing. What to say more....

The support for Wikilinks (including pipe links and autocomplete) and the improvements to metadata made the app absolutely perfect for me. Kudos.

- Expensive for what it offers.- Tags with '-' do not work.- The line length restricted to maximum 80 characters.- Custom indendation settings are not fully supported.-Image handling is poor.iA Writer might be OK for some writers. It is worth giving the app a thorough trial (my mistake, I did not do that), as other editors might be more suitable for your needs.

I'm very pleased with this tool! It's great!
