You will receive an assessment of your technique after the first time you brush your teeth. This will provide a starting point to track improvements to your oral health routine over time.
Real-time brushing guidance
The Sonicare app checks your habits, like if you're reaching all the areas of your mouth, how long you brush or how much pressure you're using, and coaches you with tailored advice. This coaching helps to ensure consistent, complete coverage every time you brush.
Dental Diary
The Dental Diary helps you track all of your oral health habits in one place – brushing, flossing, tongue cleaning and mouth rinsing – so you can spot trends and build a consistent routine.
Brushing Streak
The Brushing Streak feature helps motivate you to brush at least twice daily – morning and night – as recommended by dentists to prevent plaque build-up.
Dashboard
The Dashboard syncs with your Sonicare toothbrush to collect and display your brushing habits. You receive an easy-to-read report with insights to help support and improve your oral health.
Brush head monitoring
Automatically know when it's time to replace your brush head. Bristles wear out and start losing effectiveness after about three months, so having a fresh replacement ensures the best cleaning.
Automatic brush head reordering service
Always have a fresh brush head when you need one. As the Sonicare app checks your brush head's usage, the reordering service reminds you when you need a replacement, and can automatically place an order so it arrives just in time. The brush head smart reordering service is available in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Japan.
Connect with Apple Health
When you link the Sonicare app to the Apple Health app, you can track your brushing habits along with the rest of your health data.
Great redesign, but needs more frequent firmware updates.

The app has been modernised and is now much more intuitive—finally seeing the battery percentage is a great improvement. However, for a premium product like the DiamondClean 9000, the update frequency is lacking. I’d like to see more regular firmware updates that include detailed diagnostics for battery health and motor performance, along with new features to keep the experience fresh.

After the last update the Sonicare app crashes anytime I launch it (iPhone 7 Plus, latest iOS version installed). One of the main features of the toothbrush is now unavailable thanks to your completely unprofessional developers, who released the app without testing it. If the app won’t be fixed in next few days I will contact your product support for a full refund.

unfortunately, the guided cleaning functionality works very poorly and seems to be degrading. Quite often it can't detect specific teeth being brushed, forcing me to wash them again after the main run. But then, the timer doesn't decrease and it can just continue forever.Quite often it doesn't detect my toothbrush and I have to put it on the charger instead of brushing my teeth.Now it won't even detect the brushing cycle despite me putting it on the charger and restarting the app multiple times.Too bad, the idea is great, the execution not so much.

Bad connectivity ruins what would otherwise be a useful app

The “habit tracking” part of the app lacks any flexibility to be really useful (yes, app, sometimes I brush my teeth after midnight or do some additional brushing for half the timer, deal with it) but I don’t care much for it anyway. What I bought this overpriced toothbrush for it the real-time guidance, as I tend to daydream while brushing and am likely to miss spots. The touch up function is perfect for this. However, half of the times I use the app it doesn’t register that I turned on the handle and started brushing, so I can’t use that function.
The Philips Sonicare app continues to provide bug fixes and performance improvements based on your reviews and feedback.
