Good, but missing some important features
The app itself is very good for the price, but I would recommend infinite painter instead of it to anyone who wants to start digital art.
There’s a couple of reasons, most important being:
procreate is missing the option of adding texture to the canvas, which most professional drawing and painting programs have.
the other being that infinite painter’s brush engine feels much more natural and smooth, whereas procreates feels heavy and slow even without stabilization, so procreate may be hard to get used to if you’re used to programs like clip studio paint, sai, or even just traditional art.
but I think both of those flaws can be fixed in future updates, so it isn’t that big of a deal in the end. The program is good

Great until 5.2 update
I use Procreate since 2018 and it replace Photoshop and Wacom tablet in digital drawing for me. It deserves the “Pro” in app name. Unfortunately after recent updates, Procreate is no longer “Pro” and become a brain dead app. First of all: file handling is some kind of joke. I drew thick outline, decide to upscale it a little bit. Just little bit. Suddenly smooth outline became pixelated like PS2 game on LCD screen. Same with down scale. I have high resolution file with 600 dpi. Never happed before.
Second thing: app loose feeling of professional tool with brain-dead interface. Before update 5.2.1 when I create halftones, I was able to clearly tell how big halftone is. 1.2%, 2,8%, 18,9% etc. Now, there is no such thing. You scale between 1-2% and you can’t see if you do 1,3%, 1,7% or 1,9%…. Are you serious Savage Inc? What is your target? Kids? Brain-dead people? Certainly not professionals.
I have big library in this app but I consider switch to other drawing app. I don’t want to be treated like person who can’t think for himself.

Hi paintart - we’re sorry to hear you didn’t like the Procreate 5.2 update. We fixed a bug that was applying blur to your content. This is why it may look different as there is no blur being applied to the canvas when you’re zoomed out or zoomed in a lot. When you export your content, it will be exporting as it shows in Procreate. If you could fill out our Support Form with a video of what an artwork looks like when you’re zooming in and also send us the artwork, we can carry out some testing. (https://support.procreate.art)
We made the change to how filters behave so that it no longer shows point percentages. This was a design choice but we're listening to everyones feedback on this.
