Anyone who’s booked train tickets in the UK knows it can be a labyrinthine task. Am I buying off-peak tickets? What is off-peak? What is “super” off-peak? Am I getting the best deal? We were thrilled to have all this—and more—finally made clear as day by a souped-up Trainline app. It’s become as essential to our train travel as a fully charged phone battery.

These gentlemen provide intermediary services for purchasing train tickets, but take no responsibility for services that aren't delivered. I purchaised train tickets via Trainline in advance, only to have the train be cancelled. Ordinarily, refunds are swiftly processed without issue as the cancellation of a train can be quickly checked. However, Trainline has denied this. Instead, they asked me to reach out to the vendor directly with a completed refund form. Despite following their instructions and spending my time to supply the requisite personal data, I've received neither a response nor a refund from the vendor even after two weeks. I've made Trainline aware that the refund process they provided has proven ineffective and that the issue remains unresolved, yet they remain indifferent. They just don't respond.

Hi there, we're sorry to hear of your recent travel experience. If a train is cancelled and travel is abandoned, a full refund can be claimed from the point of purchase. If a train is cancelled and the customer is able to board another service to reach their destination, they must then claim Delay repay from the train company they were originally booked to travel with. If you had to abandon your journey altogether, please get back in touch https://tinyurl.com/2rvxhkwm Thanks, Jamie

  • I lost money because the app is completely bug

Trainline will take your money and is not responsible for anything else. Renfe updated the train schedule - but the schedule was not updated in Trainline, there was no email, no push - nothing. They say that they have live updates - this is nonsense. It's just an intermediary that doesn't solve anything. I contacted support to cancel the tickets on my behalf, since the new schedule did not suit me - in the end they were late and sent the request after departure. Now they don't want to refund my money, although the whole situation is caused by completely broken processes on Trainline's part. I will be taking legal action for a refund and would not recommend Trainline to anyone.

  • Slow connection and refund fee of £10

Due to the app working slowly, (normal speed of wifi), The app is showing you cannot priceed with the purchase. However, my list of transactions in my bank account shows I have already purchased the ticket. When I tried to refund the ticket the app shows me I need to pay a £10 fee on the purchase, with no guild on my site. Refund form claim does not provide such an option for applying for the ticket, The helpline is not answering. Outrageous.

  • They didn’t refund the money

I'm extremely disappointed. I bought a ticket from Pisa to Pisa Airport — the money was charged, but the ticket never showed up in the app. I had to buy it again. I haven’t been able to reach customer support. Terrible service.

That’s the app I was looking for! I used it in Italy where not everywhere ticket machines are available and it made everything simpler. Hope to see Polish trains soon.
