What the Heck Is NaNoWriMo? NaNoWriMo is short for the annual National Novel Writing Month, held every November, when hundreds of thousands of would-be authors connect (either online or in person) and attempt to write at least 50,000 words in 30 days. The theme and genre don’t matter as long as your idea is brand-new and you meet the word-count minimum.
