Zombie Gunship Revenant AR

Augmented Reality Zombie War

When I was a kid, I used to build little airplanes and helicopters and fly them around the house,” says Arash Keshmirian, co-founder and CEO of development studio Limbic. “When we originally conceived Zombie Gunship, we always dreamed of it being that kind of immersive experience.”

Zombie Gunship put you in an AC-130 aircraft as you blasted zombie hordes to smithereens. The game’s style and tight controls made it an instant hit, before Zombie Gunship Survival combined the intense action with world-building, as ultra-realistic graphics added depth.

Yet neither had the immersion that Arash first envisioned. But Zombie Gunship Revenant AR does, by harnessing Augmented Reality.

Our engine is built from the ground up using Metal 2, and the performance gains from being so ‘close to the metal’ are enormous.

“ARKit in iOS 11 allowed us to build the AR game we always dreamed of,” says Arash.

Revenant AR
offers a streamlined, adrenalized and tactile version of Survival that focuses on the battlefield. Your device is a virtual window into the battles as you zoom and pan around to find the best vantage points.

“Our engine is built from the ground up using Metal 2, and the performance gains from being so ‘close to the metal’ are enormous,” explains Arash.

That's our work desk...and humanity's last stand.

Sprawling 3D battlefields teem with roaming zombies as huge explosions obliterate dozens of brain-eaters. Expect amazing lighting effects and silky frame rates.

Limbic has more weapons and modes in store, but for now, they’re happy the franchise is in the AR realm.

“For many people around the world, our game might be their first experience with Augmented Reality, and we’re truly honoured to have the opportunity to make that experience a positive and memorable one.”
