Ratings and Reviews

ALPRAS ,

Good app, sheet music is too expensive, lacking features

The app is good, and the fact that it includes their various publications and editions of the same score (with different analysis and fingering) is really good and unique.
But the scores are utterly expensive, with the same price and the physical edition, with doesn’t make sense, since publication and printing cost doesn’t exist.
It should also be possible to gain access to digital versions of Henle sheet music we are already own. If I spent 50€ on Beethoven’s complete piano sonatas Vol.1, why would I spent another 50€ on the digital version?

In short, the app is good and has potential, but its scores are terribly expensive. Why would anyone spend 50€ on sheer music when you can have it for free on IMSLP?

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your review. We regret that you are not pleased with parts of the app.
The app makes it possible to individualize scores, to change the layout, or to select different fingerings by great artists. You can jump directly from your individual part to the score. These are just a few features that distinguish the app from other sites, where you might get sheet music for free. It is by far not just a simple scan of the sheet music. There are of course costs attached to this, as most of these things (such as adding new fingerings) have to be done manually.
The scores in the app are usually priced below the print editions. You also have the option to buy a lot of credits, which will give you a discount of up to 25%. Unfortunately, it is technically not possible to give you credits or digital editions for print editions that you have bought in the past. It is the same as with books - our editions do not have a unique code, which would be necessary in order to give you the digital editions for free. As mentioned above, you also do get added value from the app. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to contact our support at app-user-support@henle.de.
