Fun game, but...

Review

First of all, really enjoyed the game, well built, scaled up, very fun to play and enjoy, seeing your services and hotels growing. I’ve played until I unlocked the 3rd hotel.

What I dislike:

1) AI is very poor

At 6.30am everyone wakes up, storm the restaurant, then they leave and storm the bar at 8am (!) and then they disperse to services/rooms. This is unrealistic and forces me to have a lot more people working to attend than what’s necessary.

Cleaning ladies - depending on the total number of rooms, some times they wouldn’t clean all rooms even though they were well within their work time.

Reception - for some reason, everyone seems to checkin and checkout at the same time, storming an otherwise very peaceful reception during 90% of the time. Also unrealistic and forces me to have a lot of receptionists.

People wandering to closed services way past their closure time ... It’s strange, particularly at night and to services outside the hotel.

I didn’t understand a few things:

Gems... for stuff nice to have but not really a major improvement. And you get so many from completing goals that I’ve never felt compiled to buy any.

Guests leaving angry - I didn’t have many, and I didn’t feel any major difference as my hotel was always storming with people looking for rooms getting declined.

Taxis for more customers? Never needed, never used.

Campaigns to get more customers? Same, never used

Since money made at one hotel, isn’t transferable to another one - I don’t understand why would I want to go back to an older hotel where I’ve unlocked everything already - money should be global and not local?

2) Ads ads ads!

The game is “unplayable” without the random suitcases of money and double profits. I’ve watched hundreds and hundreds of ads to keep going.

The alternative - paying 17€ to permanently unlock double profits and disable all ads... I wouldn’t mind spending some money on this game, but I find this value considerably exaggerated given everything I’ve written here.

3) Suggestions

- Fix that “storming” behavior” and wandering randomness of AI.

- Allowing people to stay for random periods of days (instead of everyone staying the same amount)

- Make services available to people not staying at the hotel, e.g., people that come from only to enjoy a drink at the bar or a swim at the Spa.

- Make stuff break and having technicians to fix it - degrading services, rooms with problems.

- create random events: buses with tourists to enjoy your Ski slope, storms, robberies, rats in the restaurant, ... This factor is what I’ve missed the most - the game is highly repetitive and predictive.

- Making your guests complaint about stuff in the hotel and having you making a call on how to act (reimburse, extra night, fix what’s broken, ...)

- maybe having an Hotel status comparing my Hotel to others, so that people will flock (or not) to my hotel and how much willing would they be to stay there.

- Having the hotel (at times) with little occupancy so that you feel the need to use advertising campaigns to get more customers
