Description

In the year 20XX, the universe has been overrun by scary alien…things! As the last surviving member of the human race, you must valiantly pilot your space ship into battle and…SHOOT ALL THE THINGS!

Shoot All The Things is a side-scrolling twin-stick shooter, that I wrote for my own amusement. As such, it is presented here for free with no micro-transactions.

The main gameplay is a frantic barrage of explosions, where the player has to constantly scramble through an endless wave of enemies and debris, all the while creating increasing levels of mayhem as they move.

What’s New

Version 1.52

Improved visuals on level 3

Minor bug fixes from 1.50

New gameplay!
- The game is now a twin-stick shooter. However, since you still shoot whenever you move, the game is still optionally playable with one thumb as before.
- The “two players on one device” feature is gone, but the option to choose between left-handed and right-handed gameplay remains.
- On-screen joysticks have been repositioned for comfort during play.
- To improve the control system, the sensitivity of the joysticks has been improved, and the area of influence around the joysticks themselves has been increased.
- The ship now has acceleration and momentum when it moves.
- More variations of enemies, with varied attack patterns.
- Boss enemies have new attack patterns.
- “Side shot” and “rear shot” weapons are no longer supported.
- Increased the firing rate of “power shot” and “huge shot” weapons.
- The drone weapon now spins around you as it shoots.
- Post-level perks are now cumulative, so you can become significantly more powerful with each level, provided you don’t die.
- Some enemies take multiple hits to explode.
- Improved difficultly curve to make the game feel more fair.

New graphics!
- New background art for all levels (except for level 1).
- Fancy new UI.
- New title screen.
- More variation of enemies.
- New art for the “story plus” intro, and “story mode” ending screens.
- Different weapons have different visual effects.
- Explosions and lasers are bigger and brighter.
- Fancy new post-processing effects, such as reflections on water, and refractions in rain.

New audio!
- New music for levels 2, 3, and the boss fights.
- Different weapons have different visual effects.
- The explosion sounds are more varied, making the audio less monotonous.
