Ever wish you could give one photo the same look as another? Pixelmator Pro’s ML Match Colors feature can work wonders here. This machine-learning-powered tool lets you easily apply the “feel” of one pic – its colour balance, contrast, exposure and more – to another.
How to use it
1. Open the image you want to modify, then enter colour-adjustment mode by clicking the Adjust Colors button (the one with three circles) in the tool panel.
2. Pick your reference image, ideally one that’s similar to the one you want to adjust. If you’re trying to level up a shot of a beach sunset that came out muted, use a photo of a vibrant sunset as a reference.
3. Drag the reference image onto the Color Adjustments panel. When you see a message letting you know you’re about to use the ML Match Colors feature, drop the image.
Pixelmator Pro will analyse the reference image, then alter the lighting and colours in your original image using up to 37 tools, including exposure, contrast, white balance – even the specific shade of red.
The app is also transparent about its edits: you can see exactly what adjustments it made, so you can tweak them to perfection.
