The App Store is full of fitness apps that try to do everything — log every meal, track every workout, scan barcodes, run leaderboards, build streaks. Lean does none of that. It picks the single metric that matters for body composition and builds the simplest possible tool around it.
HOW IT WORKS
Open Lean once in the morning. You'll see four numbers for today:
Your calorie target
Your protein target
Your training focus
One habit to hit
Tap any row to read a short note on why that number. Hit them. Come back tomorrow. That is the whole app.
WHERE THE NUMBERS COME FROM
Lean uses your stats — height, age, sex, activity level, current body composition — and applies standard sports science: Mifflin-St Jeor for metabolic rate, a moderate 20% deficit for sustainable fat loss, and 2.0g of protein per kg of lean body mass to protect muscle while you cut. The weekly training rotation pairs resistance work with zone-2 cardio, because strength training is the single most effective way to make your BFP fall faster than weight alone.
If your trend flattens for two weeks, Lean adjusts your deficit. If you're losing too fast, it pulls back. The coaching is deterministic and transparent — no black-box AI, no mystery algorithm.
TRACKING YOUR TREND
Log your body fat percentage manually, or let Lean pull it automatically from Apple Health every time you open the app. Your trend displays as a single chart with your goal overlaid. Three tiles show current, lowest, and 14-day average. That is the entire Trend tab.
DAILY REMINDER
Set a morning reminder time and Lean sends one notification a day — nothing more. Your plan is ready when you wake up.
WHAT LEAN WON'T DO
No meal logging or food database

If a feature doesn't directly help reduce body fat, it isn't in the app. The restraint is the product.
PRIVACY
Your data stays on your device. Lean has no servers, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDKs. Apple Health data is read-only and never transmitted. Uninstall the app and every byte is gone.
