Description

Simple focus. Points added for desirable behaviors. Points removed for less desirable behaviors. Simple reasons. Simple scoring.

Now, with the On-Point app for iPhone and iPad, educators and adults working with children of all ages can conveniently game-ify interactions to motivate children to practice performing any set of rewarding behaviors.

People are conditional beings - we can be conditioned to be quiet, raise our hands, speak when spoken to and a whole host of good, positive behaviors - if we want to and if we practice these positive behaviors. Research has shown that the rewards for good sportsmanship, good citizenship, good group membership and good self-discipline don't have to be costly or even meaningful. Simply knowing the score - placing 2nd of 15 for example - can be a source of pride, acknowledge self-worth and achievement and be a considerable motivation to concentrate and try harder to perform the behaviors that matter within the scope of the game. With On-Point teachers can keep track of the behavior scores of their class, right on their iPhones and iPads.

Teachers setup the app for their classes and select individual or groups of students, points and tags - the reason for awarding points - throughout the day. With a tap of a button, the list of students can be sorted with their relative scores. A tap on the student report button gives a report of each award assignment and the students' ranking in the class. Teachers can easily review their own performance too.

With one tap (and confirmation) of the reset button, the teacher can reset everyone's scores to 0 and start everybody off with a clean slate.

iPhone and iPad are synchronized and scores and data are shared between devices with the same Apple ID.
