Description

From the makers of Quran.com comes Quran for iOS, a beautiful, and ad-free mushaf app.

It’s now easier to read the Quran on the go, memorize it and listen to your favorite reciters.

This is just the beginning for Quran for iOS. We’ll be updating the app regularly insha'Allah and would love to hear your feedback and feature requests. You can reach us at ios@quran.com

As the Hadeeth (prophetic statement) in At-Tirmithi states: “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward, and this reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that 'Alif, Laam, Meem' (a combination of letters frequently mentioned in the Holy Quran) is a letter, rather I am saying that ‘Alif’ is a letter, ‘Laam’ is a letter and ‘Meem’ is a letter.” [At-Tirmithi] We hope this app will help you increase your recitation of the Quran and increase your blessings in this world and the hereafter.

Attention Developers!

Jazakum Allah for this excellent service to humanity. I would however like to bring to your attention something that may be a significant bug with rather serious implications. I can also confirm that this is true for not just the IOS but also the desktop website. In the translation mode of use where the Arabic text and the selected translation (English in my case) are displayed simultaneously, I found that the Arabic text wrong tajweed harakat. I’ll provide 2 examples for reference. Surat Takweer 81, verse 14, while in translations mode the Arabic text demands the word Nafs to be read as non-Gunna, indicated by a Dhamma with a Semi Circle around it, where as in reality it is a Ghunna and must be Tanween Dhamma. In the same Surat 81, verse 23, another kind of occurrence can be noted where the word Ra-aawho is indicated false to contain a Madd on the Alif, whereas in reality it does not. This issue occurs backwards in other places where a place with a madd is not represented with one like in the Verse 2 of Surat 80. This issue only exists in translation mode and is widespread everywhere, while in the Arabic text(only) mode, the text is 100% accurate. Kindly see wha you can do about this. Jazakum Allah Khaira.

JazakumAllah khairan for the app

Loved the app! Especially the functionality of taking notes and adding bookmarks.

Although, I wish there was an option to toggle between scroll down and page mode.
Just like the smart phone browser version has the scroll down mode.

English Word Translation

As salamualeikum!
On the website version, there is an excellent feature where when I simply tap on a word in the Arabic text, it instantly shows the English translation and also plays an audio of the word. Why isn’t this feature on the app? Honestly, that feature makes it nicer for non-Arabic speakers to understand.

Update after response: yes I see the pointer on the app, but its not the same as the website. The website is much more convenient, and the website also has the feature where the word selected is pronounced by the reciter. Also, on the app I have to switch between Arabic and translation to be able to either use the point for each word or read the full translation of the ayat. At least if it was integrated it would have been better.

You can reach it from the top menu -> word translation pointer
