This app uses the internal microphone to estimate the sound pressure level in decibels (dB SPL).

Examples:
- quiet bedroom at night: 30 dB
- average home: 50 dB
- vacuum cleaner, 1m away: 70 dB
- jet aircraft, 50 m away: 140 dB

Thank you for using Decibels. This version fixes a bug that in some cases prevented the microphone from being activated when the app was reopened.

Retina Icon

The app works just fine. Ok, you don't have anything to add to it, but at least give us the retina display icon :)

This app is sh**!!!

When I cover the microphone it still shows a value of 90db and when there’s literally no sound shows 60. Ow and another thing, why do you need permision for the camera?

I may be a bit late with this response, but here are a few tips for people reading this today:

- The app's accuracy has largely improved since 2018 with standard frequency weighting.
- Covering or touching the microphone introduces strong local noise at the entrance of the microphone which results in high dB readings.
- You can pull down the main screen to reveal the camera and take fotos with superimposed dB display. You will be asked for camera permission when using this feature the first time.

O aplicație utilă

Nu știu cât de exactă este, dar oferă niște date cât de cât aproximate. Îmi place că ocupă foarte puțin spațiu.

Singura problemă a aplicației este că nu a fost gândită și pentru dimensiunea ecranului a iPhone 5.
