Ratings and Reviews
Ideal
It’s jus the perfect way for transfer the photos from my Nikon 1000P to my iPhone 11.
Bad App
First they removed the feature where the app will concert raw to jpeg and download the jpeg. Second: i can’t see my raw files preview on the app. The old wifi only app for the d750 was able of all of this. They added the rate feature to the camera and i am not able to download the rated photos to my phone. The only wifi connection is not working as the camera simply refusez to turn on wifi. The instructions for the wifi connection are from the d3aaa series of cameras. The work around to use this app is: just go to the raw File i like, convertit it to jpeg( this gest frustrating fast if you have more then 3 images), open the app, pray to it to get a connection(repeat until you get a connection), select slowly the images then wait forever to get them. The next option is to shot raw+jpeg get a otg card reader plug the card in phone and download the images fast. I test it with d850 and iPhoneX
Live view could be improved
When connecting in wifi mode and live view video mode, you cannot rely on selecting Af point. It misses and in most cases will not respond to where you want it to focus.
It has lag when in 1080@120fps video live view. It could be improved if the transmitted live image could be down sampled just for the main reason of monitoring what’s being recorded. The app is pretty basic and you cannot use the camera back lcd as long as you are in live mode.
Sony has an app that outperforms this Nikon’s app if you compare the usability.
