Sleep Cycle is an innovative alarm clock that rouses you when your body is naturally ready to wake up. The app listens to your movements and noises at night to draw up detailed metrics about your slumber. Then it times your alarm for your lightest phase of sleep, helping you achieve a restful level of shut-eye.
What we love: The app observes how long it takes you to fall asleep, how your sleeping location and daily routine affect your slumber, and even how the moon phases and weather change the quality of your sleep. Add notes in the sleep journal about your day-to-day schedule and your mood upon waking up.
Quick tip: On Apple Watch, Sleep Cycle wakes you with a gentle vibration on your wrist instead of a blaring sound. Give the app a wake-up window (from 10 to 45 minutes) and it’ll monitor your sleep rhythms to determine the optimal time to quietly buzz you awake.
Meet the creator: Sleep Cycle was born out of founder Maciek Drejak’s personal need to experience better sleep. He realised technology could play a role in helping him wake up more energised, so he utilised Apple’s movement detection technology to create the world’s first smart alarm clock.
